I think this works for all compatible formats. I haven't yet tried this
feature, though.

Interesting though VLC will play mp3 files right from a zip archive. No
need to unzip. I don't know about other formats.

Hi.
I don't know what VLC has to do with unzipping files/books. Shouldn't affect
anything like that.

As for Cyberlink, if you don't use it, just get rid of it. I also remember
it being far from keyboard-friendly, at the very least. No point in keeping
around programs you don't use.

Okay, when I downloaded vlc 3.01 again, I was unable to unzip the bard files
for the nls books. I had to delete it without testing to see if it worked
for dvds and cds. I couldn't get SMplayer to play dvds, but I got it to
play the cd a couple of times before it quit doing that. Has anyone used
cyberlink powermiedia? It doesn't seem accessible, and I'm wondering if it
is interfearing with VLC when I try it. the dvds keep coming up saying the
cyberlink powe rmedia is playing them rather than the vlc.

Re: [JAWS-Users] vlc and dvd/cds

2018-03-21 Thread Hareth
VLC 3.0 added a feature to play media within zip and iso formats
without extracting them.
The whey to fix that is re installing it with custom option and
uncheck the iso and zip file format from the file association menu
options before finishing the installation procedure.
BTW the vlc preferences options does include file association menu,
but I don't think its that accessible.

I'm going to hazard a pretty good guess that although the strange thing
happened, there isn't a connection between that and VLC. But then, I'm not
familiar with BARD. I thought it was just a book-sharing service.
