Re: [JAWS-Users] Toggle for quieting jaws besides control?
It was never claimed that insert spacebar v did anything. Insert v, end key, then spacebar, to temporarily mute JAWS speech, is the alternative. - Original Message - From: Don Risavy, Jr. djrisav...@cox.net To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Saturday, January 15, 2011 4:32 PM Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Toggle for quieting jaws besides control? Re: [JAWS-Users] Toggle for quieting jaws besides control?
You can mute the speech with insert-space and then S. But, that doesn't get Jaws out of the way. In other words, unless you have forms mode set to auto with no delay, a sighted person browsing the web might get confused by the virtual cursor and forms mode. So, it might be better to unload and reload Jaws. - Original Message - From: Janie Degenshein jdege...@comcast.net To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Sent: Friday, January 14, 2011 11:42 AM Subject: [JAWS-Users] Toggle for quieting jaws besides control? Remember, that if you leave Jaws running, but merely quieten it, Jaws will affect the interface. This means things will not necessarily act as the sited person expects. Therefore, I would recommend using your Insert F 4, to unload Jaws and when you want it back, use your easy to make shortcut key of Control Alt J, to bring Jaws back up.
