interesting, I was reading about RFID in scientific american and it is one of these
simple things where the possibilities seem endless. What is EPC? is it some software
behind it?

We rarely "steer" new contributions. Let me explain it: if it is important to you
then you would probably contribute it yourself. That is the way it works. So we
wouldn't stop you from contributing.

I went through that myself recently and it actually works.

Basically you can find the eclipse file from a fresh CVS checkout, so do that first.
Then from Eclipse tell him to import the project pointing to that file. It
automatically pulls down all the files from the central repository (so it does a
second checkout).

I got the stuff to compile after adding 2 missing classpath files. It compiles in
Eclipse now. I really like the differential compiler feature.

Another thing to check is that you are including the servlet properly in the webdoclet
task. I too was getting empty web.xml until I saw that I had used "**/Servlet.java"
instead of "**/*Servlet.java".

RFE on sourceforge are a bit too obscure. I prefer the acoliver wiki approach on the
website. Also acoliver, you got some balls to come and recruit contributors out of
julien's project. you get your own.

hey I am really glad to see a thread like this one. There is a lot of work to be done
and I liked the ideas presented on the messaging and such. Or a live board section.
That would be great actually and we could use it for "weekly" talks with the
community.

Guys, help out, there is always a room in JBoss

I created only the core and common.

Try first core and if it works so try more.

I created into my /eclipse/workspace the new Java Project. After I created an
/src/main and an /output/gen/classes folder. Then import the to folders from
/nukes/nukes/src/main and /nukes/nukes/output/gen/classes ( to get this compile first
with the given build.xml <- this creates the folder) And at least add all external
jars from /nukes/thirdparty/ .. and even more.

Re: [JBoss-dev] FYI: JBoss mentioned in Fortune magazine

2004-02-16 Thread Andrew Oliver
Ahh chalk it up to Monday mornings

They donated XMLBeans to Apache: http://xml.apache.org/xmlbeans/

It is now en vogue for proprietary software companies to describe themselves
as: open source-like, open source-friendly, etc. They're guerilla marketing
the open source message. This is tacit admission that we're winning. Even
blind companies are starting to see.

Someone tried to do jaas authentication via Hibernate and extend the SimplePrincipal
to store more information about logged user?!

I'm trying to integrate this in JBoss 3.2.3...

I read http://www.hibernate.org/139.html but few information are available there.

Someone have examples of this or can give me an hand?

[JBoss-dev] FYI: JBoss mentioned in Fortune magazine

2004-02-16 Thread Dimitris Andreadis

Not really a development subject...

There was a Fortune Tech issue with an article about OpenSource. Mainly
about Linux, Apache, MySql, PHP. JBoss was mentioned as well (and JBoss
group in the company index).

Interesting that BEA present themselves as being, "open-source" friendly.
Why's that? For bundling beanshell with their server :)

Regards/Dimitris

[JBoss-dev] [EJB on JBoss] - TimerService(EJB2.1) with JBOSS-4.0.0DR2 don`t work if serve

Hi Every body,

TSS article says about javax.ejb.TimerService.

"If the server goes down, the timers will still be active when it comes back up
again. If an interval timer expires many times while the server is down, it may go off
multiple times when the system comes up again. Consult your vendors' documentation to
learn how they handle expired timers following a system failure"

http://www.theserverside.com/articles/article.jsp?l=MonsonHaefel-Column4

i have tryed deploying the interval timer sevices with JBoss-4.0.0 DR2 it works fine
if server is alive.

I made the server down anb started .. once the server is restarted TimerService is not
activated..

is it a bug or this feature yet to be implemented with JBOSS-4.

Thanks in advance

Muneendra
