Just curious - why does JBoss make a copy of everything that goes through the
deployer? It makes sense for remote archives, but it seems wasteful to do this for
every file on my classpath. Does this help with the auto-redeploy features?

The EJB 2.0 verifier is in process. Next time I work on it I'll try to
remove all the code generating spurious messages. Many things have
changed between EJB 1.1 and EJB 2.0, and I didn't catch them all in the
process of moving the code over.

I've wondered too.
IMO it is unnecesary for remote archives, since the jar protocol handler
makes a temporary copy anyway. As far as I know the true reason is that in
windows you cannot delete an open file, so you could never undeploy an
autodeployed file by removing it.
