Yes, I (personally) agree to. File a jira issue for this and have as many
people vote for it. It could be made configurable with an attribute like
'evaluate="always"' or 'evaluate="once"'
Post your patch with the bug, since that might speed up implementation.

Setting the scope to session doesn't mean that all User instances live in the

Could it be that the source code of your pages isn't blank? Have a look at it.
If there are a lot of tags the page just didn't get interpreted. This could be
due to using the wrong suffix in the browser, e.g. .xhtml instead of .seam.

Is it possible to not package the EJB jar and the WAR file into an ear for
deployment, but to deploy them seperately?
I'd like to be able to update my WAR file contents more frequently without
having to redeploy the EJB's also.
Does this work well with seam? Right now I just package it all into
Thanks for the hint, Gavin.
I just read in the reference that the default interception type is
INVOKE_APPLICATION. So by default injected components are null from (1) to (4)
and thy have their correct value only from (5) to (6).
But it's good that you want to change the default behaviour. btw:
I can't pinpoint the root cause, but at some point the 4.0 server instance I
added was corrupted (I could open the "Overview" page, but I couldn't edit the
runtime information in the general section nor did anything happen when I
clicked "Open launch configuration").
I tried deleting the serv
Peter, what DB are you using?
On mysql5, with large file uploade, I see this:
| Caused by: org.jboss.util.NestedSQLException: Error; - nested throwable:
(java.lang.OutOfMemoryError)
| at
org.jboss.resource.adapter.jdbc.WrappedConnection.checkException(WrappedConnection.java:557)
I've managed to reproduce it in a simple ear. Can I upload it as an Issue in
Jira???
Thanks!

The only time I've seen this error is if I actually rename or remove the
startup jar file bin/run.jar.
I would check to make sure the file listed actually exists on your machine. If
it doesn't exist, I would move to figure out why not.
Again, I was only able to recreate this error by manually
the source is available you know... it is Open Source. You can SEE what happens
in this method. You can create a small testcase to achieve the same.

I see what I'm doing wrong, but that begs another question, how do I accomplish
what I want to accomplish.
Shouldn't Registering a Group be stateless?
I want for the user to register a group, and be redirected to a page which
displays that group, and allows the user to modify that group ect.,
look at your hibernate config. What did you configure to use for generating
ID's (Oracle has no autoincrement)? The default oracle config generated by jBPM
(3.1 or cvs-head) works fine for me

I'm using the new beta release of the IDE for Eclipse 3.2. I opened the server
view, then used the context menu to create a new server. I chose the path to
my server root using the browse feature, so the path to it is right, but when I
try to start the server I get the following error:
