Why do we need a bunch of duplicate changes in jdk7u/hotspot ?

2012-04-27 Thread Volker Simonis
Hi, could anybody please explain why it was necessary to reintegrate a whole lot of changes into hs23 of jdk7u/hotspot which have been in the hotspot repository since hs22 anyway? This all happened with the following bulk integrations: http://mail.openjdk.java.net/pipermail/jdk7u-dev/2012-April/

Hi, from a "consumer perspective" I'd highly appreciate it as well if you'd backport the single changesets and only create new BugIDs for changesets which have to be modified in order to fit into 7u (e.g. "XXX: backport of YYY to 7u). I understand that doing the backport changeswise might

Hi Alejandro, can you please tell us (or at least estimate) when the 7u12 forest will be created? I saw that 7u-dev/hotspot already contains various jdk7u12 tags (up to jdk7u12-b07). Regards, Volker ** On Sat, Jan 12, 2013 at 1:53 PM, Alejandro E Murillo < alejandro.muri...@oracle.com> wrote:

So where is 7u14 beast and why doesn't it become publicly visible? After all it's a 'feature-release' so there should be no reason to hide it behind the fences, right? Regards, Volker On Fri, Apr 12, 2013 at 5:30 PM, Alejandro E Murillo wrote: > Requesting approval to integrate hs24-b40 into jd

Hi Dalibor, why do we need to remove these repositories? Are we really that short of disk space? I don't have any concrete use case for keeping the mentioned forests but sometimes it may come in handy to browse the history of old releases. If I remember right I used jdk7u-osx several times during
