could anybody please explain why it was necessary to reintegrate a
whole lot of changes into hs23 of jdk7u/hotspot which have been in the
hotspot repository since hs22 anyway?
This all happened with the following bulk integrations:

from a "consumer perspective" I'd highly appreciate it as well if
you'd backport the single changesets and only create new BugIDs for
changesets which have to be modified in order to fit into 7u (e.g.
"XXX: backport of YYY to 7u). I understand that doing the

I saw that 7u-dev/hotspot already contains various jdk7u12 tags (up to
jdk7u12-b07).

why do we need to remove these repositories? Are we really that short
of disk space?
I don't have any concrete use case for keeping the mentioned forests
but sometimes it may come in handy to browse the history of old
