Proposal: Global CONTRIBUTING.md defaul for projects in jenkinsci

2019-11-28 Thread Oleg Nenashev
Hi all,

In the jenkinsci GitHub organization we have a lot of components which do
not have contributing guidelines inside the repositories. It may cause some
issues for newcomer contributors, and in future it may also impact ranking
of projects in GitHub search.

I suggest to add a global CONTRIBUTING.md page which provides minimum
pointers to visitors and which can be overridden in plugin by maintainers.
I believe it is a net positive thing though the page might cause
contradiction in repositories which define contributing guidelines in
README and other similar locations. So I would appreciate feedback w.r.t
this proposal.

Current draft: https://github.com/jenkinsci/.github/pull/24

Thanks for your feedback,
Oleg

Adjunct library vs. JS plugin: Was: Re: Jenkins test harness not loading JS files in dependencies of plugin under test

2019-11-28 Thread Ullrich Hafner
Ok, I found the problem (but still have no solution on how to proceed):

In the adjunct jelly file I load the JS files in using commands like:

After changing that in my plugins the path is correctly expanded to something
like
http://localhost:8080/adjuncts/3e890174/io/jenkins/plugins/bootstrap4/js/bootstrap.min.js

However the resources are not found, they are rather exposed as
http://localhost:8080/plugin/bootstrap4-api/io/jenkins/plugins/bootstrap4/js/bootstrap.min.js

After some more digging I realized that the adjuncts are actually libraries and
no plugins. So this seems to be not compatible.

What is the right way to tackle this problem?
Should I locate JS libraries like bootstrap in a Jenkins plugin or in a library
(jar) that I am depending on?
Should I refer to the JS files using something like To unsubscribe from this group and stop receiving emails from it, send an

Re: 2019 Election: voting has closed

2019-11-28 Thread Kohsuke Kawaguchi
My apologies for the delay.

The results are in. Alyssa Tong won the biggest support
 as
the event officer, and Daniel Beck won the biggest support
 as
the security officer. So they will stay in those seats. I sincerely thank
them for their continued effort and service.

Oleg Nenashev, Ullrich Hafner, and Alex Earl were elected to the board
seats, but there is a catch. In the actual vote result
,
Mark Waite won the seat, but that would put 3 people from CloudBees to be
on the board, which violates the corporate involvement clause
-- the idea is that we
wanted to limit the influence by one corporation. So we discussed this and
decided Alex shall take the seat that Mark has won.

Thank you very much for all the candidates for stepping up and show the
willingness to help & serve. Thanks everyone for the participation to the
process, which I think gave a much needed legitimacy to the governance.

And finally, special thanks to Tracy and Olivier, who was behind the scene
and took the grunt work of running an election, for the very first time.
I'm hoping to catch up with them to produce the post-mortem report, so that
we can improve this the next time around. A number of you pointed out gaps
and suggestions.

Updates about Jenkins User Experience SIG moving to Jenkins User Experience Mailing List

2019-11-28 Thread Jeremy Hartley
Hi,

At the first Jenkins User Experience SIG meeting it was agreed that the
conversation and updates about this SIG would be done in the Jenkins User
Experience mailing list
  . So if you are
interested in reading the minutes of the first meeting or finding out when
the next meeting is scheduled please head over there. This is to avoid
having multiple threads about the same. Everybody is welcome!

Thanks

Jeremy Hartley

Re: Adoption of FSTrigger plugin

2019-11-28 Thread Tony Noble
Hi Tiberius,

There is a general plan to bring all the dependencies for all the XTrigger
projects up to date (and get them working with pipeline), but so far only
one is anywhere near complete. As small as the change might seem, if you
could raise a PR for it, it would be much appreciated (and will make sure
it gets higher priority in general).

Many thanks,

Tony
