That sounds way cool! Do you have example scripts, screencasts, movies??

With luck in about a week a new exhibit on nanotechnology will roll out at
the Epcot Center in Florida. One of the three centerpieces is called "Touch
a Molecule" and involves absolutely cutting edge Jmol. We have
infinite tours through silicon and quartz crystals and liquid water

Absolutely NOT more than I wanted to know. Thanks for the tutorial.

Bummer. I'm running 1.6.0_06 without a problem for the standalone version
and "Next Generation Java Plug-in 1.6.0_18 for Mozilla browsers" for the
plug in, which I just installed yesterday. Maybe it's just a bug in
1.6.0_17.

I am running Windows XP SP2, using Firefox 3.5.7, and the most recent
version of Java on my system is 1.6.0_17. When I load a Jmol page to
view via the Jmol applet, the drop-down menus do not workthere is a

very cool -- I'm going to need to study that :)

Takes some getting used to. Basically:
1) You can define little local xyz frames based on any three atoms.
2) You can use "differences" of quaternions -- q1/q2 -- to determine
relative orientation.
3) You can use quaternions in rotation commands in Jmol.
I think the best demo of this is http://ch
Thank you for that detailed explanation of quaternions, Bob! This is the
first time I've actually been able to picture how to utilize them in a
general way. (guess I just needed a different explanation)
