Hi all,
does anyone know how to force JSMol to use a certain language instead of
the system wide default? I tried setting the "language" option to
language: "English",
in the Info object passed to the applet creation method but it didn't work.
Any other ideas?

Nah, now JSmol enters into some infinite or very long loop when loading the
file and Firefox crashes (it happens on the line Script:
file:///home/wml08325/Desktop/MagresViewHg/MagresView_1_2bis/jsmol/JSmol.min.js:331).

Thanks a lot! Did this happen two weeks ago? Because that's when we started
having trouble as Firefox randomly stopped working with JMol at the CASTEP
workshop... it was driving me mad. Is there any way to do this change
through Javascript that you know of? I fear not, but if there is
something...
This idea picks my interest, though for my application I'd like something
slightly more functional (with capabilities to draw solids, lines and text,
beyond the simple molecular plotting).
A question: is it possible that such a JSMol "lite" version would also
render faster? Or should we expect more

I can add something to that - local file access with HTML5 will work with
Firefox and Opera, could not work with some versions of Chrome, which has a
weird security policy, if the html file is local itself. In the latter
case, it can be fixed by running Chrome from command line with the option

Hi,
I'm trying to switch my JMol applet web page to JSMol - mainly to avoid all
the problems related with ever increasing restrictive security policies for
Java. I put all the main JSMol files in a folder, j2s in a subfolder,
loaded the scripts:
ay to represent them in JMol, unless you turn your
magnetic shielding information into "fake" data for the thermal ellipsoid,
which would be quite a ugly workaround.
Best regards,

Greetings,
I am experiencing a weird problem. I have been developing a page embedding
the JMol Java applet with JSO interface, and it worked fine on all the
browsers I tested it on - Firefox, Chrome, and Opera. After a while of not
testing it anymore on Opera, I tried it again and it doesn't work
Well, for now it works, but I am not running on the same system where I
observed the bug first, so I won't be able to give a good answer for a
while.

Hi,
I've stumbled upon a peculiar behaviour in the JMol applet. I was testing
with the pickCallback with a simple function which only shows a dialog with
the arguments passed to the callback printed in it whenever one picks an
atom. This worked fine on Chrome. The same, however, did not happen on

Hello everyone,
maybe it's just me not being able to find this in the documentation, but...
is there a way to draw 2D lines (lines that are not thin cylinders) in Jmol
freely, without them being measures or H-bonds?
Thank you very much.

Hello everyone,
I'm developing a webpage embedding the JMol applet using JSO. I would like
to be able to load molecular models stored in strings - created either via
scripting, or by loading user files. I can't seem however to find a JSO
equivalent for the old jslibrary "jmolLoadInline" function.
I have just started working with JSO, but I can tell you at least that you
can replace the jmol script ("model NEXT") with a Javascript function. You
only have to pass an array [, , ...]
to the jmolButton function. If your function does simple operations which
can be coded in Javascript, that would

Hi,
I tried downloading the new 13.1.9 release from Sourceforge, and even
compiling the source code for 13.1.10_dev, but I still have bugs with
ellipsoids. Now, instead of a dot, I see a large square when I try them. It
seems odd to me that it could be system-specific, but just to stay on the

Hi everyone,
I've been working with JMol version 13.1.9_dev, especially with the
console, for a scripting project. In particular, I've been playing around
with ellipsoids. I found out that there is some weird behaviour on their
part:
1) in versions 13.1.9 and 13.1.8, ellipsoids created with the c
Ah, good one! Thanks.
Now that I check, atomno is one of the [atom properties], so it's an
analogous syntax to some other expressions I've used already. The @
shortcut however is really convenient.

Oh, good to know. Currently I am working on 13.1.9_dev, so it's a new bug.
I am interested into using this notation because it's very regular and
seems more practical for scripting than, say, using the full chemical name.
By the way, hello everyone. I'm a new one but I'm going to hang around on

I support this idea. Also, I remember reading somewhere that selectionHalos
is supposed to be set ON by default when a file is loaded - which in my
case actually does not happen when I load from the scripting console.
