did you try ctrl+v? Josm doesn’t recognize cmd+v in textinput on the mac, but
ctrl should work.

Tod -- Not sure if this helps you but I have been able to right-click and
paste from the context menu in applications that don't let you paste in the
traditional way (menu or command-v). Perhaps it helps you in this case.
