[jug-discussion] WindowsXP help?
Sorry, this is off-topic... I have a friend in Tucson who is having trouble with his WindowsXP machine. (Freezes, etc.) Any recommendations for a store/shop/consultant that could help him? Thanks -- Randy - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

tfug.org would be very enthusiastic about solving these problems permanently, I think...but on a possibly more useful note, I think best buy and compusa will be able to fix the problem in a less drastic manner. tfug.org would be very enthusiastic about solving these problems permanently, lol. :-) best buy and compusa will be able to fix the problem in a less drastic manner. Yikes. Their solution might be fdisk and reinstall, so it might be almost as drastic. grin I don't know of anyone locally (it would help, as I support all of my relatives personaly grin) -- but there must be individuals out there doing support? Re: [jug-discussion] WindowsXP help?
I responded directly to Randy since this was a bit OT, but since there appears to be other interest I'll repeat. I'm forced to live on MS Windows more than I'd like, and I joined the Tucson Computer Society (www.aztcs.org) some time ago. I get lots of free (and often very good) advice on their mail list, well worth the annual membership fee (I think it's still $35/year). I originally (some years ago) saw TCS as a bunch of old folks mainly interested in how to access the internet and do e-mail and image fiddling, but there's a strong developer group, lots of very savvy tech types that watch the mail list, and a new and growing Linux group. [jug-discussion] Jakarta Commons DBUtiles
I've been playing with these today... lightweight wrapper around JDBC. I rigged up the MapListHandler -- which returns a List of HashMaps... which can easily be displayed in a template. http://jakarta.apache.org/commons/dbutils/examples.html Found an article later in the day: http://builder.com.com/5100-6370-5177731.html Not exactly Hibernate, but it's a slick _little_ util class for grabbing data. The docs could use a little work (of course) as they almost make this seem more difficult to use than it is. (about 6 lines of code from SQL QUERY to template output) Cheers, Timo - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
