Hi All,
In my 9-5 I work for an ITSP where we have two MX5's with
- iBGP
- two up steams with two BGP sessions each (one per routes)
- one upstream with one bgp session
- one bgp session where we get minimal routes (maybe 15 total)
I was told that convergence time on the MX5 would be horrible so
Not much at all 250 mbit.

Hi,
We currently have two MX5's with three upstreams (two of which have a BGP
session with each MX5). We wanted to get full routes from all upsteams but
were told by a few people at the time that should one peer drop out it
would take 2-3 minutes before the MX5 would pull the routes for the

Just swapping them out seemed to do the trick for us.

We have had nothing but issues with alg. We have it disabled completely on our
srx's. If you are having issues with sip feel free to email direct (it's what I
do all day)

Why not use an external service to scrub your traffic?

Hi,
Has anyone ever tried full IPv4 routes on a MX5? We have 3 peers + iBGP. We
were told in the past that when a BGP session drops the MX5 could lock up
for up to 2 minutes.
TIA.

I assume that means that if a peer drops out of sight then for two minutes some
of the traffic will drop? As of now we use default routes. If a bgp session
drops the traffic shifts over fairly fast (under 30 seconds).

Hi,
We have two SRX 550's in an HA cluster. We are working on enabling IPv6
(finally). I was told that when we do:
set security forwarding-options family inet6 mode flow-based
We will need a reboot. Does anyone know about how long it takes for 550's
to reboot and come back up? Also any way
Will it still have the same slow convergence time?

The Juniper site was a bit confusing and I thought the latest was 12.3R as
well till I was told otherwise on IRC (that US Domestic is being done away
with).
