I have done a bit more investigation on this, the problem album has id = 1262.
If I open sqlite from command line and run
select * from images where album = 1262;

The only other idea I have is that it happens when switching between images
without alpha channel (RGB, mostly JPEG) and images with alpha channel (RGBA,
usually PNG).
