Not exactly that way.
The way I described it is an improvement .
For instance, the unlock screen shows no indication it is expecting a PIN.
Also, I have to press ENTER after the PIN.

I don't have this option.
I don't understand...knotes does not have a title bar...?!?!?!
Anyway, right clicking on a note only shows options to change the note's
color or remove it.

Sorry it is not what you expected so far
Loosing the widgets is really a bumper. First time you recreate then again, but

As soon I turn off the primary monitor the mouse pointer on the second monitor
freezes.
As soon I turn on the primary monitor the mouse pointer goes back to action AND
