to create a > 8 bits HEIF file, switch the bit depth of the current image
loaded in editor to 16 bits color depth.

Hmm, when reading the metadata again, the color depth increases to 16bit. But I
don't see any difference in the colors, I guess I'll have to take a screenshot.
