[krita] [Bug 363259] New: Both 32 and 64 bit versions return error 998 upon opening.

2016-05-18 Thread Bruno de Souza Lino via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363259

Bug ID: 363259
Summary: Both 32 and 64 bit versions return error 998 upon
opening.
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.0 Release Candidate
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: grave
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: bruno.souza.l...@gmail.com

None of the Windows build of RC1 open. They both return 'LoadLibrary failed
with error 998: Invalid access to memory location.' and don't open after you
click 'ok'. Running either as admnistrator doesn't make any difference. Same
for compatibility modes. The program is unusable if it can't even open. The
version prior to RC1 opened normally.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Open krita.

Actual Results:
Returns 'LoadLibrary failed with error 998: Invalid access to memory location.'

Expected Results:
Krita should open.

Windows 10 x64 Home version.

Hi,

We cannot control what buttons Mint's window manager thinks it should display.
Likely, if you make the buttons too big, the window gets too big for your
display, and Mint feels there's no reason to allow you to maximize it anymore.
There's nothing we can do about it: ideally the toolbox should automatically
add columns to make sure Krita's windows fit, but that's a problem in Qt that
we cannot solve.

Hi,

How to reproduce:
===
1. Open a new document (eg. A4, 300ppi)
2. Paint/create three layers (random colored stroke) on it (not empty layers)
3. Select a layer in the layer stack docker and try to pick the color of the
stroke with Ctrl+click.
4. Repeat (3) to trigger the bug. It should happens all the time.

Result:
==
The Color picker tool is locked for 1 big second after layer selection. So, it
feels like the color-picker is not working. After this delay, the color-picker
works.

Odd. That solves the problem if I launch DNGConverter from Digikam. If I launch

[krita] [Bug 362453] Crash if I create a new file while the krita window is tiled to left or right

2016-05-18 Thread via KDE Bugzilla

Slight edit.
The crashes I'm now experiencing seem to be a different crash which is no
longer dependent on whether or now the program is half screen or full screen.
I can now open new files while half screen that crash seems to be fixed, ish.

However, once a file is open if OpenGL is switched from on to off or off to on,
it crashes, while re opened it is on the new setting, but can only be toggled
before opening a file for it to not crash.

I never occured to me when using v2.9.10, I just installed 2.9.11 to check and
it didnt happen either.

My graphics card is Nvidia GeForce GTX 960M i also have 16GB of ram

Im not sure what has changed between 5 hours ago and now, but when I first
opened the newest Krita, it was still crashing every time I try (if OpenGL was
on (as mentioned before, turning openGL off fixed this)), but for some reason
it only crashes sometimes now independent of whether of not OpenGL is on or
off.

The same thing is also happening with previous versions of Krita 3.0,
independent of OpenGL it only crashes sometimes. I'm messing around with
different settings to see if I can re-get the constant crashes, but so far, no
luck.

[krita] [Bug 363252] New: Trying to move cursor to the bottom half of canvas loops cursor to top of canvas

2016-05-18 Thread via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363252

Bug ID: 363252
Summary: Trying to move cursor to the bottom half of canvas
loops cursor to top of canvas
   Product: krita
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: CPU Canvas
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: mjtd...@gmail.com

Using a Huion tablet H610PRO, touch sensitivity is disabled without moving to
the bottom of the canvas, and whenever I try to move to the bottom, the cursor
disappears and spawns at the top of the canvas. After moving to the bottom,
however, I can still move the cursor around, and it now has the touch
sensitivity. This never happens outside of the canvas box, and going
side-to-side still works normally. I am not sure if this applies to just me.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Use a Huion tablet H610PRO and open Krita as normal
2.Move the pen so the cursor is in the top-half of the canvas box
3.Move the pen so the cursor should be on the bottom-half of the box

Actual Results:
the cursor should be back in the top of the canvas box, without moving the pen
back up, pressure sensitivity should be back, and you can move the pen at the
bottom of the pad while the cursor is moving in the top half of the canvas box

Expected Results:
the cursor should have gone to the bottom of the canvas without glitching to
the top of the canvas box

flicks are off, press-and-hold-right-click is off, double-click is on

[plasmashell] [Bug 363249] New: Desktop switcher in "icon" mode

2016-05-18 Thread FabiB via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363249

Bug ID: 363249
Summary: Desktop switcher in "icon" mode
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: plusf...@gmail.com
CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org

there is a widget that lets you switch between virtual desktop.
the good thing is that its easy to use. the bad thing is that it uses really
much space in you panel if you have many virtual desktops.

on windows there is also such a widget on you bar. here it is an icon, you can
click on and it will show you all your virtual desktops.

so my idea is that it will be possible on linux too to run this widget as
"icon", when you click on it it will show you all your desktops

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. set desktop switcher plasmoid into you plasma bar
2. set to have 5 virtual desktop

Actual Results:
it takes much space

Expected Results:
it should be possible to have only an icon that shows the desktop only on
click.

[kdenlive] [Bug 363247] New: git master: Shift + R on a disabled video/audio clip creates only video with audio embedded clips

2016-05-18 Thread Massimo Stella via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363247

Bug ID: 363247
Summary: git master: Shift + R on a disabled video/audio clip
creates only video with audio embedded clips
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: maxs...@tin.it

If you disable an audio/video clip in "Strict" mode and the you split it by
Shift+R, you'll have both on the video and on the audio track a video with
audio embedded clips. The video part embeds the audio and the audio part
becomes a video with embedded audio.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Insert a clip on the timeline with audio and video separated ("Strict" mode)
2. Disable the clip
3. Use the Shift +R command or the scissors for splitting the clip

Actual Results:
You'll find only video with audio embedded clips both on the video and on the
audio tracks

Expected Results:
The application has to split the clips in the same way it does when they aren't
disabled.

When you perform an Insert or Overwrite action, Kdenlive inserts or overwrites
a blank space of the correct length (both if you use the selected timeline zone
or if you use the selected clip zone) in the target tracks on the timeline
instead of the audio and video sources. This happens both in "Mixed" and in
"Strict" mode.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Select a zone in the timeline or in the clip
2. Set the target tracks
3. Insert (V9 or overwrite (W)

Actual Results:
The application inserts or overwrites a blank space

Expected Results:
The application has to insert or overwrite the audio video sources

Maybe this is related to OpenGL rewrited code in 3.0... We have some collection
(on this bug tracker) of strange bugs, hard to reproducing in diffrent
hardwares than this one which it owns by reporter of the bug.

@aquasx1
1) Does it's also exists in Krita v2.9.11 or does it's a regression in v3.0 ?

2) What graphic card do you have in yours computer ?

3) Can you try also reproducing this bug in the newest Krita ?:

[KScreen] [Bug 346961] Multi Monitor configuration lost on reboot, must reconfigure after startup

Running into this issue here as well. Setup - two monitors:
1) Primary -> DisplayPort (RIGHT monitor)
2) Secondary -> HDMI (LEFT monitor)

Logout or reboot always resets both monitors' resolution to 1920x1080 and
resets both monitors' coordinates in System Settings -> Display Configuration
to "on top of each other".

Disabling KScreen 2 fixed these issues but produces new ones:
a) Primary display setting is lost (reverts to "No Primary Display")
b) Position information is reversed: DisplayPort monitor is now on the left and
HDMI monitor on the right

This now happens on each logout or reboot. After disabling KScreen 2, it *is*
kind of an improvement but manual display configuration intervention is still
required on each login, which is a pain.

Confirmed.

I deferred a reminder at noon for 5 hours. I suspended the computer for 2 about
hours and resumed it around 4. The reminder should have come at 5 o'clock, but
didn't. It is now nearly 5:45.

I suspect that the reminder will be 2 hours late.

[kdenlive] [Bug 361360] git master - playback speed/framerate slows WAY down when using video clips in multiple tracks in timeline (video example included)

2016-05-18 Thread Jesse via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361360

A little bit more testing (if it helps) shows that there's much more CPU load
when playing clips overlaying each other with track compositing, than playing a
clip that doesn't have another clip over or under it.

In other words, during playback over a section in the timeline where there's
more than one clip present on multiple tracks, my system monitor shows a
heftier CPU load. Playing a single clip in a single track results in almost no
CPU load at all.

Interestingly enough, when I disable track compositing and put an Affine or
composite transition in between two clips on the timeline, the CPU STILL revs
up. Once the timeline position cursor passes the Affine/composite transition,
things start to smooth out to a perfect 24fps, and the CPU goes back to
minimal.

So, with the current build from the kdenlive-master ppa (May 17, 2016 build)
using track compositing OR Affine/composite transitions with track compositing
disabled produces the same result: considerable drop in playback
speed/framerate, and the CPU revs up, signifying a greater work load (one of my
8 CPU cores goes to 100% during this time).

Hope that helps. I feel like this is a pretty significant bug. The last couple
of weeks has shown some EPIC feature additions to the Kdenlive master build,
but if there's still an underlying issue of playback speed during basic editing
functions, I feel like progress is being somewhat crippled.

Not a complaint at all, just trying to offer some helpful advice to keep the
solid foundation solid, you know?

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=361515

Sorry to comment again; I just wanted to let you know I tried to gif the new
problem but it won't let me draw while using gyazo to record. To be a little
more specific, the line thickness and opacity is effected by how hard I'm
pushing on my pen so it's still reading that. It just draws from where I left
the pen last to the new mark in a straight line.

Sorry for the delay, but that unfortunately didn't fix it. :( in fact, it made
it slightly worse- now it'll draw a faint line in between touches. So if I draw
a squiggle, lift the pen and press it elsewhere, a faint line will draw between
the two. :C

I was unaware of the Alt-A shortcut for Replace All. I'm actually very happy
just using that. Thank you so much for sharing!
If no one else care about the tab order, I'm fine considering this closed with
the information about Alt-shortcuts as the resolution.
Thanks again!

I very much doubt the compiler has anything to do with this bug. Especially if
the pre-alpha also crashed; so Wolthera must be right, and it must be an issue
with the settings. Please check %APPDATA%\Local\ and attach the kritarc file if
you can reproduce the crash. Then rename it to kritarc. bak and try again.

Er...

I doubt this is a bug in Krita! The splash screen is drawn by Qt, and so is the
image in the overview window. The actual effect looks like an old-fashioned
endianness issue... It could be a problem with the appimages, in that they're
built on CentOS 6.7, though I wouldn't know how I could fix that then. Did you
also report the issue to the people behind those ppa's you mention?

[phonon-backend-vlc] [Bug 363240] New: List of mime types do not match the ones in the vlc desktop file

2016-05-18 Thread Maximiliano Curia via KDE Bugzilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=363240

Bug ID: 363240

Forwarding the Debian bug #824695 originally reported by Petter Reinholdsten
(http://bugs.debian.org/824695)

When comparing the list of MIME types in
phonon-backend-vlc-0.8.2/MimeTypes.cmake with the file
share/vlc.desktop.mimetypes in the vlc upstream git, the list of MIME
types do mot match each other. These ones are missing in the phonon
backend build rules:

Should these two list be synced?

The list of MIME types in the upstream git repository was recently
extended, but I was not aware of the list of MIME types in the phonon
backend when doing so.

Happy hacking
Petter Reinholdtsen

Reproducible: Always

Expected Results:
The list of supported mime types should be the same as vlc.

Same here, automatic spell checking working/not working depends on font.
Liberation Mono doesn't work, DejaVu Sans Mono does.

However, i should add that even with Liberation autochecking works for some
lines: those that have dynamic word wrap continuation and aren't bold.

Hi,

Thanks for your report. Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce the bug. I'm on
Linux, using the RC1 appimage, on an old dell laptop, but it is a 64 bit
system. That shouldn't matter, though. Your test image takes 450mb of ram,
which means it should be fine on your system. Unfortunately, I haven't got a
32 bits Windows system to see if that makes the difference :-( On Windows 10,
64 bits, on an old thinkpad with 4g of memory, I cannot reproduce either.

The operation does take quite a bit of time, which suggests that there is
something memory-intensive going on, though.

Thanks for resolving this.

Back to Kicker: maybe each icon on the left side could get corresponding text
on the bottom. Then one could get a quicker overview of the available items;
especially when icons are similar (like for example LibreOffice Writer or Calc
which almost only differ in color at this small size).

I turned off opengl and I can no longer reproduce the crash.
i must admit though, it was a pretty weird crash in the first place.
