[krita] [Bug 375217] New: Error when fetching pallete for Render Animation

2017-01-17 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375217

Bug ID: 375217
   Summary: Error when fetching pallete for Render Animation
   Product: krita
   Version: 3.1.1
  Platform: Other
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Animation
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: ninpi...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 103473
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=103473=edit
The logfile for for the 'Fetching pallete' phase, during Render Animation

I was directed here via tumblr so, here is some information about my issue:

1.) My OS is Windows 10.

1 b.)The version of ffmpeg I downloaded was labelled
"ffmpeg-latest-win64-static.zip" The READ ME file stated it was "FFMpeg version
20170116-e664730".

2.) I acquired the file at the url:
https://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/win64/static/
and just stored it in my downloads folder.
The destination of my exported animation would have been elsewhere though, in a
subfolder in my Documents. My Documents is also where I found my logfiles.

3.) I just ran a quick test for this animation. I just used the pen tool and
wrote 1, 2, 3, and then 4 on consecutive frames. The animation is running on
24fps and is only 4 frames (frame 0 - 3).
The dimensions are 1960x1080
The bit depth is 32-Bits Float, and the Background is not transparent. It's a
solid white background.

I hope to hear back from you guys soon! I'd really love to animate with this
software!

After a restart (and upgrade to KMail 5.4.1) all my trash folders seem to be
working, so I think (at least for KMail 5.4.1) my issue seems to be a duplicate

in the header section. The entire render feels off. There are no explicit
errors in the stdout or stderr that I can see.

This was a new laptop so I re-installed 3 times fresh to confirm it was nothing
I changed, making the setup of kmail the very first thing I did post-install.

[okular] [Bug 375211] New: Table Select tool fails on large table

2017-01-17 Thread Mark Whitis
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375211

Bug ID: 375211
   Summary: Table Select tool fails on large table
   Product: okular
   Version: 0.20.3
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: okular-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: mark.whi...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Table select tool fails to automatically identify rows and columns on a simple
table layout with large amounts of data.
http://www.qsl.net/sterling/VA_QSO_Party/2016_VQP/2016_VQP_MetaData.pdf
approx 22 columns
approx 180 rows per page
approx 414 total rows
3 pages

This requires over 500 near pixel accurate mouse clicks to convert.
This site has similar files for each year.
The following file is a bit more difficult as it is missing lines except on the
column heads on the first page. okular finds the rows ok but not the columns.
http://www.qsl.net/sterling/VA_QSO_Party/2009_VQP/2009_VQP_MetaData.pdf

This is the latest version of okular packaged for this long term support
release of ubuntu.
Qt: 4.8.6
KDE Development Platform: 4.13.3
Okular: 0.19.3
Distributor ID: Ubuntu
Description:Ubuntu 14.04.4 LTS

Thank you @Wolthera,
I went to my source folder, and applied:
git revert ebfaab84a240efe7b9ba42e65ecdd346e0737007
then I added a description for a commit in local, and built again.
It does fix the bug, now I'm able to resize brush with Shift again.

This is the commit I reverted:

--- Comment #1 from JATothrim  ---
I'm seeing exactly same behaviour. I also had kdevelop crashing instantly on me
by adding lines above the break points and then trying to remove/change/add the
breakpoints then. Bigger the project was the sooner kdevelop may crash. Usually
no crash happens except that break points go invalid and I manage to 'fix' the
break points by removing them and adding them back.

I think this bug is rather severe as I have lost data because of it.

I have Kdevelop 5.0.3, KDE Frameworks 5.30.0, Qt 5.7.1.

Please fix this issue on next release. I don't like instantly segfaulting
sofware.

I am seeing this too, using the 5.1 Beta (KDevelop-5.0.80-x86_64.AppImage),
running on a Fedora 25 system. This worked fine on another (Fedora 24) system.
Libxcb on F24 is version 1.11.1; and 1.12 for F25.

I'm attaching the output file from a 'LD_DEBUG="symbols"' run, if that helps.

Let me know if there is something else I should try, or other information which
can help. From the testing I was able to do, I really want this version!

[plasmashell] [Bug 375208] New: Startmenu search sometimes doesn't show all desktop files

2017-01-17 Thread Fabian Maurer
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375208

Bug ID: 375208
   Summary: Startmenu search sometimes doesn't show all desktop
files
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.8.95
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: dark.shad...@web.de
CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

This is an regression, since it used to work with earlier versions.
I'm using the "Application Menu" startmenu, and when searching for "Amarok" it
sometimes doesn't show up. When manually searching the startmenu, it's listed
under "Multimedia" though.
Things like reinstalling Amarok with "pacman -S amarok" or editing the
applications in the startmenu most of the time help - at least until the next
logout.

The problem is that is mostly random, I have no idea how to trigger the bug.
Also, I only saw it happening with Amarok since I search for that the most
often.
Ideas to help me testing?

Seems that one can either do

 ln -s /var/lib/dbus/machine-id /etc/machine-id

or just create a new /var/lib/dbus/machine-id file and write some random
32-hex-digits number to it.

Then, Kdenlive-16.12.1-2-x86_64.AppImage does start on my system.

Would of course be better if the AppImage provided that file readily.

[krunner] [Bug 375207] New: bring back the historylist (downarrow) for better mouse (keyboardless) usability

2017-01-17 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375207

Bug ID: 375207
   Summary: bring back the historylist (downarrow) for better
mouse (keyboardless) usability
   Product: krunner
   Version: 5.8.2
  Platform: Debian testing
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@privat.broulik.de
  Reporter: alt.bo-btg0...@cool.fr.nf
  Target Milestone: ---

Since the downarrow-historylist was removed, usability suffered.

With the downarrow to click, one could re-run an old entry, such as "kdesudo
dolphin" without letting go of the mouse.

Without that downarrow-button to click with the mouse, one is forced to leave
mouse, hit "K" on the keyboard, then return to mouse to launch the command.
Continuous mouse-operation, without use of the keyboard, is more desirable and
faster, and was possible before.

This mode of op. is significantly worse, in terms of usability, than in older
versions of krunner.

There seems to be no advantage in removing the downarrow-button.

https://userbase.kde.org/Plasma/Krunner currently shows the screenshot from the
good old days, with downarrow button to the left of the "?"-button. Maybe
downversioninng of krunner will help to get it back.

When I start to run Kdenlive-16.12.1-2-x86_64.AppImage, it quickly aborts with
the following message:

process 14977: D-Bus library appears to be incorrectly set up; failed to read
machine uuid: Failed to open "/var/lib/dbus/machine-id": No such file or
directory
See the manual page for dbus-uuidgen to correct this issue.
  D-Bus not built with -rdynamic so unable to print a backtrace
/tmp/.mount_Dk8eCB/AppRun: line 55: 14977 Aborted kdenlive
--config kdenlive-appimagerc $@

This problem did not occur with Kdenlive-16.12.0-x86_64.AppImage, so something
new must have introduced the hunt for the non-existing machine-id file.

(My operating system here is the latest and greatest CentOS 7.3.1611, and yes,
there is no "/var/lib/dbus/machine-id" file - never missed it ;-) )

2017-01-17 Thread Jose Mantilla
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375205

Bug ID: 375205
   Summary: K3b shows blank disk after burning an iso to dvd
   Product: k3b
   Version: 2.0.3
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: critical
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Burning/Hardware
  Assignee: k...@kde.org

Created attachment 103471
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=103471=edit
after I burning, the application can't do the verification.

I have damaged 4 DVDs trying to burn an iso to dvd on Fedora 25 with the last
K3b that I found in the repo.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.  Download iso image.
2.  Insert blank DVD.
3. Use k3b to burn image to disc. (No error is reported, unless k3b is asked
to verify written data.)
4. Attempt to mount or boot from disc. System reports blank DVD.

-- Please look at the picture attached.

Please, is there a solution? I am disappointed.

Created attachment 103470

backtrace of kmail threads after Quitting

Selecting Quit from the file menu closes the main window and system tray icon
but the kmail process does not exit.

I've attached a text file which might help. After hitting Quit and waiting a
minute, I launched gdb and attached to the kmail process. The file contains the
backtrace for the active threads, which all appear to be in poll() or
pthread_cond_wait().

I'm using kmail on Kubuntu 16.10, package version 4:16.04.3-0ubuntu2, on amd64,
but the bug has been happening for a while (I think since upgrading to 16.10).
It's 100% repeatable so I can help investigate if given instructions. There is
no message on stdout or stderr when I hit quit. If I kill the process manually
there is no terminal output, and I can start the program again as normal.

Hi,

I had a look at this plasmoid. as I don't use kde 4 and breeze is not designed
for kde 4, it's difficult. In general the icons from plasmoid controll look
good in the panel, so if you make your plasmoid available in plasma 5, have a
look at the icons from there. I can add breeze icons, no problem, but than you
have to make the plasmoid available for plasma 5 first.

Hi Khadine,

I still really want to know which brand and model of computer you have, which
display chip and which driver version -- other people are also suffering from
this issue, and if we want to make a workaround, we need to compile a list of
systems with problems and probably buy one ourselves.

Maybe it is possible to change that limit from 0.1 to 0.001. Such extreme

I would like it if, in the dolphin "Properties" dialog, when you view
properties for a music file(.wav, .ogg, .flac, .mp3, etc...), it would show
important information about the file, like song name, album, artist, runtime,
bitrate, codec.

This could be added to the properties, or even the tooltips.
And it would make Dolpin more useful, because right now, I have to use the
command line to get bitrate information.

categories are stored in text file, and must be store in DB as well.

In documentation, "Album Properties" is a dialog to edit Album features.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=374913

Seems like the problem might be in Qt. I added some debug output and it seems

Qt is calling KDEPlatformFileDialogHelper::selectFile(const QUrl ) by
simply concatenating filename with the CWD because it does
QUrl::fromLocalFile("myfile.cpp") which results in "CWD/myfile.cpp"

I'll see if I can work around this in plasma-integration

https://code.woboq.org/qt5/qtbase/src/widgets/dialogs/qfiledialog.cpp.html#1048
```
if (!d->usingWidgets()) {
QUrl url = QUrl::fromLocalFile(filename);
if (QFileInfo(filename).isRelative()) {
QDir dir(d->options->initialDirectory().toLocalFile());
url = QUrl::fromLocalFile(dir.absoluteFilePath(filename));
}
d->selectFile_sys(url);
d->options->setInitiallySelectedFiles(QList() << url);
return;
}
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Reporter: jens-bugs.kde@spamfreemail.de
  Target Milestone: ---
In my current 5.4.0 appimage, I can use Shift+Ctrl+Cursor to rotate video
thumbnails. But the video itself isn't rotated.
Either the video orientation should be adjusted (I think Qt5Multimedia supports
video orientation flags) or the thumbnail rotation should just be ignored - if
many thumbnails are selected and one of them is a video, just this video
thumbnail should not be rotated.
And if the rotation is actually supported, the thumbnail should be recreated
with the "movie" overlay again at the side of the thumbnail. Right now, after
rotation, the overlay is at the top or bottom (inconsistent).
Thank you :)
--- Comment #3 from Stefan  ---
I can reproduce, especially comment 1:
Kleopatra
Version 2.2.0-gitfb4ae3d (2015-11-12)
Unter KDE 4.13.3
on Windows 10 64bit (Pro), should be up to date as of 2017-01-17
Intel Core i5-4670K @ 3.4 GHz
sha256sum.txtHp2692.new
sha1sum.txtHp8528.new
are generated for a 3.91 GB large file (4102945 KB), moving file to
sha256sum.txt failed: Error renaming the file.
Unfortunately the executables seem single threaded. Running "sha256sum.exe
filename.iso" directly in the windows commandline gives me a checksum after 42
seconds. So it is difficult to look for a timeout. One core of my system is on
100% load. Moving the large file to an SSD does not speed this up. So I can't
easily test if it is a time out or a file size problem.
>From a 1.67 GB (1758561 KB) large file the checksums are correctly calculated
and saved.
>From HDD:
sha256sum.exe has a run time of ~19 seconds
>From a USB thumbdrive on USB3: 19 seconds
Same drive on USB 2: 44 s
Kleopatra on USB 2: could not move file after 32 seconds
But Window's USB-File-Caching let's me successfully finish a second run on the
same file in under 30 seconds. (To avoid the use of cached thumbdrive data, I
did my test always on a freshly plugged in drive and verified the read speed in
the Windows Resource Monitor.)
Committed on 17/01/2017 at 20:54.
Pushed by davidedmundson into branch 'Plasma/5.9'.
Hide menu if the menu disappears off DBus
Summary:
This can happen without a focus change if focus is changed to a window
that doesn't claim the menu, for example the desktop.
It could also happen if an application does something weird, like
release
its service name.
Test Plan:
Ran "sleep 10; killall kate"
Then selected kate then the desktop
Kate remained showing for 10 seconds then closed
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
plasmashell 5.8.5
When grouped the list is short by 1.5 items.
For example, with 10 firefox windows open. pop up list will show, as 8 items
and part of the 9th but 10 does not show. it does not scroll either.
If ungrouped I see all 10 windows as separate items.
Worked before last update.
2017-01-17 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=362941
--- Comment #21 from vindica...@live.com ---
OMG Sergio, the goal of GTK is to completely drop system tray icons??? I cannot
think of ANY reasoning to do that.
If you have a clock, volume control, or any other manageable indicators in a
bar, you have system tray icons.
The whole point of the system tray is for quick view/access of certain types of
programs and their status.
I wish he elaborated on what the "change to" would be. I can't find any search
results about it, but rather people looking for sni-qt or libindicator (a
desire for their programs to be in the system tray).
Not that I have any reason or desire to move back to Gnome, this surely would
keep me far away from it.
KDE has completely cinched it for me. Especially within the past few months I
guess, where everything is mostly solid (minus java tray icons). Every little
bug I encountered is cleared up. While I haven't used Windows-10 much, I'd
still stick with Plasma. It's very powerful and customizable.
I probably shouldn't post this comment since it doesn't add to the bug talk,
but I thought that IRC statement by ebassi about dropping tray icons is just
too huge. If I want to make any validity to posting this, maybe to keep KDE
from following suit... ;)
[plasmashell] [Bug 375192] New: latest update of kf5-libkleo adn kf5-gpgmepp breaks kwallet subsystem
2017-01-17 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375192
Bug ID: 375192
   Summary: latest update of kf5-libkleo adn kf5-gpgmepp breaks
kwallet subsystem
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.8.5
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: k...@davidedmundson.co.uk
  Reporter: slartibar...@gmail.com
CC: bhus...@gmail.com, plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0
Fedora-Testing updates provided
kf5-gpgmepp.x86_64 16.08.3-2.fc25.1
kf5-libkleo.x86_64 16.08.3-1.fc25.1
which break kwallet subsystem.
Starting kcmshell5 kwalletconfig5 and launching the wallet manager just gives
an empty window (just decoration with empty client area). Moreover, any saved
information in wallet is not accessible (e.g.. wlan passwords)
Returning to previous versions (16.08.3-2.fc25, 16.08.3-1.fc25) fixes the
problem
[kwin] [Bug 375177] Redrawing sometimes fails
2017-01-17 Thread Kathie Dart
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375177
--- Comment #6 from Kathie Dart  ---
Would it have deliberately turned off compositing after one crash? I think that
could be good for the issue but not for the good window management.
[libqapt] [Bug 375188] New: QApt::Backend::removePackages() does not remove dependent packages
2017-01-17 Thread Alexander Morozov
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=375188
Bug ID: 375188
   Summary: QApt::Backend::removePackages() does not remove
dependent packages
   Product: libqapt
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: sit...@kde.org
  Reporter: a.moro...@drweb.com
  Target Milestone: ---
QApt::Backend::installPackages() honors dependencies but
QApt::Backend::removePackages() does not.
Let there are a package A and a package B which depends on A.
If I remove A with QApt::Backend::removePackages() B is not removed.
If I use QApt::Package::setRemove and QApt::Backend::commitChanges() B is
removed:
QApt::Backend *backend = ...
QApt::Package *pkg = backend->package("A");
pkg->setRemove();
backend->commitChanges();
correctly forward status from applets to containment
Summary:
unfortunately hiddenvisibility is the "biggest" status
that makes computing the proper status tricky.
if an applet in the containment is hidden, we must not mark as
hidden the whole containment, because it's as if hidden was
(as it should be) the smallest in the enum
Test Plan: touchpad plasmoid no longer hides the systray
You need to install Calligra 3.0 (it was recently released). Also, don't forget
to enable those previews in the Dolphin settings.
