Thanks for reaching back after trying on the latest stable. This is very weird
issue since nobody else experience anything similar.

Since valgrind is not showing leaks, it's most likely not a leak. Krusader
allocates resources for something it needs. Question is, what does it need?

Could you please run `krusader -d` in the same setting (fresh user, tabs at
'/') and attach here?
Another thing to try is `strace krusader` but the output might be big.

I assume you know how to redirect stdout and stderr to file (2>&1 >file).

[plasmashell] [Bug 396395] New: Task manager window ordering on application restart

2018-07-10 Thread Tin Blaskovic
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396395

Bug ID: 396395
Summary: Task manager window ordering on application restart
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.13.2
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Task Manager
  Assignee: h...@kde.org
  Reporter: tin.blasko...@gmail.com
CC: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: 1.0

Hi,

short use case for this problem:

- open multiple windows with a few tabs each in Firefox, make sure the Firefox
is setup to restore the session
- close Firefox
- logout
- login
- open Firefox again

The problem: the ordering of restored Firefox windows is randomized in the task
manager (although their position on the screen is preserved)
Preferred behavior: the ordering of restored windows in the task manager to be
in the order they were previous to closing

This was lately working with no problems, even with dozens of windows open
containing hundreds of tabs. It was an intermittent problem observed in
previous 5.x versions of Plasma but seemed to have gotten fixed lately.
However, with latest Plasma (5.13.2, and possibly 5.13.1 too) it appeared
again, so I guess it is some kind of a regression.
I have previously observed the same problem with Chromium, so I'm not sure if
it has anything to do with GTK-based applications.
For completeness sake, this also seemed to coincide with the update to Firefox
61 (or perhaps to one of the latest revisions of Firefox 60) if that is of any
help.

I've made a partial fix, but it turns out the Qt bug is worse than I thought.
Some combining characters (e.g. 0x0332-0x0338) are treated as regular
characters. This causes (without current functionality which cuts them off)
wrong position detection and rendering problems.

If I'll not find anything better, I'll filter out those problematic combining
characters.

2018-07-10 Thread Tyson Tan

   Product: krita

  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal

 Component: Usability
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: tyson...@mail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Right now when we right-click on the Brush Presets docker, a context menu will
popup. However, if you are "tapping (click-and-release)" the stylus side button
to do call out the right-click menu, you will often find the menu disappears
immediately after you release the right button. This is because as you release
right button, Krita automatically selects the menu entry which the cursor is
hovering.

You don't see this happening because mouse can stay unmoved as you click its
buttons, and by default when you right-click, the cursor is always just outside
of the menu so nothing gets selected and close the menu.

This is a very annoying usability issue that keeps nagging me for ages.

Add Enter and Clear buttons to Brush preset docker's new tag input box

Please consider adding [Enter] and [Clear] buttons next to, or inside:
Brush Presets docker >> Right-click menu >> Assign to tag >> New tag input box.

When I was using Krita on Surface and Wacom MSP 13 without a keyboard for the
first time, the biggest issue I had was that I could not press enter to input a
tag, even when I copied the words from a text file.

I've also met many people who don't know they need to press Enter after they
input a new tag, so they got very confused by Krita's tag system as "nothing I
input was showing up".

Adding those buttons, or only the [Enter] button should greatly improve the
usability and ease the learning curve for new users.

These buttons can either be text, or they can be small icons like [OK] [V] [X]
which takes less space.

kscreenlocker works with shadow passwords and krb5 authentication, but fails

kcheckpass calls pam_pkcs11 but fails with a "kcheckpass[]: no suitable

This is on an openSUSE Leap 15 install, and seems to be running:

kcheckpass-5.12.5-lp150.1.1.x86_64.debug

Is this a kcheckpass issue? Maybe PAM? But PAM works otherwise. The
smartcard reader flashes when trying to unlock, so the basic plumbing seems to
be okay.

[kdenlive] [Bug 396386] New: wrong framework in the project

2018-07-10 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396386

Bug ID: 396386
Summary: wrong framework in the project
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 18.04.1
  Platform: Other
OS: MS Windows
Status: UNCONFIRMED

the images described in the general description

I have some videos that for example I rotate and zoom in order to fit the video
(applying the effect Rotate and Position and Zoom, directly to the clip, before
inserting it in the project). If I control with the Clip Monitor the operation
seems successful. But when I insert the video in the project, something weird
happens: the effect are applied but the dimensions in height and width are the
same of the original video before the effects. In the attachment there are 3
images: image one (the original clip); image two (the clip monitor after
applying the effects); and image three (what appears in the project, the
framework is the same size as the original and shows me only a portion of the
video!).

Overflowing text on long tooltip

When you add a QtQuick Tooltip to a user interface element, when its text is
very long, it doesn't wrap at the edge of the window and become a multi-line
Tooltip; instead it overflows. See attached screenshot.

I don't get it either -- please either provide a patch, or complain to Phil. I
currentlly don't have a system where I can reproduce the problem, and until my
distribution updates to that, I won't look into it.

That's why I am asking someone from the Plasma side to answer whether we want

[digikam] [Bug 396382] New: Editor Window empty

2018-07-10 Thread Samuel Gilbert
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396382

Bug ID: 396382
   Summary: Editor Window empty

   Version: 5.9.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: ImageEditor
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 113870
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=113870=edit
A screenshot showing the empty editor window

The first time I open the editor window by pressing F4, or by using the menus,
from the album view when a picture is selected, everything is fine.

If I close the editor window then try to open it again, regardless of if the
selected picture is the same or different, I get an empty window. There is
absolutely nothing displayed.

This is reproducible every single time.

Here is what I get in the console the first time:

[krita] [Bug 396381] New: PyKrita doesn't load with PyQt 5.11

2018-07-10 Thread Antonio Rojas

Bug ID: 396381
Summary: PyKrita doesn't load with PyQt 5.11
   Product: krita
   Version: 4.1.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Scripting
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: aro...@archlinux.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Python plugins don't work with PyQt 5.11. For some reason beyond my
understanding the PyQt developer decided that PyQt must now use a private copy
of sip [1], and that seems to confuse krita, which still uses the shared sip.

krita.scripting: "Traceback (most recent call last):"
krita.scripting: " File \"/usr/lib/krita-python-libs/krita/__init__.py\", line

krita.scripting: "from .api import *"

in "
krita.scripting: "from PyKrita.krita import *"
krita.scripting: "RuntimeError: the PyQt5.QtCore module failed to register with
the sip module"
krita.scripting: "Could not import krita"

Tried rebuilding krita with PyQt 5.11, didn't help.

It is possible to click in the box for the DPI value, erase the 96 and enter,

The configuration dialog affects new patterns only. If you change settings
there, then do File->New, you will see the settings reflected in the new
pattern. The file properties dialog relates to the currently active pattern.
If configuration options were applied to the currently active pattern, it may
have adverse effects, so it is not done.

If there is a need to change the units for the cloth count of the existing
file, I can look at implementing the same method used in the configuration
dialog within the file properties dialog.

I wrote the following before reading your new comment (and I got a "mid air
collision" from the bugtracker when I tried to post it :) ):

-
Anyways, I went ahead and tried xev. So, I did the following:

1) wmctrl -lp to get all the winids of firefox's windows

2) xev -id on each and everyone of them (just to be sure)

When I do "xev -id " xev just stand there without reporting
anything which I guess means the window isn't generating any event,
right?

Anything else I can try?

While using Krita, specially with Brush tool and Vector Tool (main tools used

Cursor freezes and it is not possible to navigate in canvas and Tool Dockers.
Problem has been occurring after integrating Text Tool innovations (3.x). To
take cursor back and stops the crash, it is necessary to open Configure krita
window, and close it (no need to change any configuration). OpenGL is disabled
and not available to the user.

[kmymoney] [Bug 396285] When opening a mymoney file from smb:// share saving fails and destroys all data to 0Bytes!

2018-07-10 Thread kde
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396285

Apart from comment 10, which is likely due to a code path issue on unexpected
fail (i.e. all files become zero length due to the error not being
expected/caught in the save function), I also believe this is not a KMM issue
now.

I got something.. When SMB2 and SMB3 is disabled on the Synology, it works as
SMBv1.

Maybe this is a coincidence due to the different authentication, but its
something. Also note Synology is a much newer SMBD than Mint 18.3.

I will try Mint 19 share just to see if it has the same issues as Synology on a
more recent SMBD.

If that's the reason, why doesn't firefox "victimize" kwin 5.12?
I have now two root filesystems (I use btrfs). Both of them have the same
packages and at the same versions. Except one root has plasma 5.12 and the
other has plasma 5.13.
And the problem is only with plasma 5.13...

I wonder if we need to reassign this bug to kio. (Per comment 10, I think we
can revisit whether KMM is using some unsafe save method until this smb issue
is resolved.)

I would also suggest looking at the release notes for synology, and possible
even for the smb standard, in case something has changed between versions 4.3
and 4.4 that would affect how kio interacts with it.

On a remote from a linux mint 18.3 mounted on this PC, loading text file as
before using kate... has no errors on save.

So conclusion, KDE5 frameworks definitely has an issue with some samba
implementations, specifically Synology.

kate -b

OK

I should note that the file did not become zero length with kate, so I would
argue at this point that a failure in write for KMM5 is not properly fail safe.
Worth looking into as a side product

Ok, I had a little trouble with the tests in the other bug but I did try a
different KDE5 application and hit issues. We are getting somewhere.

Opening a text file in Kate on the same share reads OK.

kate -b
/run/user/1000/gvfs/smb-share:server=bigstation.office.lan,share=hause/holidays/india/Details.txt

When I try to save, it says "root priviledges required". Interesting.

When I enter a password, it then errors in a similar way.

"The document could not be saved, as it was not possible to write to
/run/user/1000/gvfs/smb-share:server=bigstation.office.lan,share=hause/holidays/india/Details.txt.

Check that you have write access to this file or that enough disk space is
available."

Fix converting Qt's ui languages to ki18n language codes

Also, on macOS, only set one language; ki18n gets horribly
confused and takes random translations if there's more than
one language set with setLanguages.

[krita] [Bug 396038] GIT ae24634: Docker size configuration is lost upon each session

2018-07-10 Thread Boudewijn Rempt
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396038

Hm, but krita doesn't actually have an active workspace -- after selecting,
say, Minimal, Krita doesn't remember the current workspace is "Minimal", but
remembers the configuration of dockers and toolbars, and restores that.

What I'm seeing here is that the workspace seems to save correctly, and can be
restored, but the current window configuration doesn't get restored on a
restart, and that's pretty strange, since it works for me on Windows and Linux.
