SUMMARY
At the end of each lesson it is possible to look at the progress for the
current lesson only. It would be good if this could be done also on the home
screen, possibly also allowing zooming-in the progress chart on the home
screen.

This would allow checking one's progress on the specific lessons and decide
which lesson to take to improve on the weakest ones.

Has there been any progress on this issue? This does not appear to be an
Apple-proprietary format.. it's based on HEVC / H.265, according to
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/High_Efficiency_Image_File_Format. I am unsure
whether Exiv2 has been updated yet, though it does appear that Exiv2 supports
HEVC video files, so perhaps this would just work?

I tried to install the 0.8 branch but also in this case I get the same error
mentioned above

Now, I do not know what happened.
... may be, that I have run install.sh with root privileges

the strange thing is that, although I have tried to delete all traces of latte,
described in the "build / install_manifest.txt" using the script "uninstall.sh"
something still prevents me from running latte

Oh. In this case, it's a Ubuntu packaging oddity:
They package the QML part separately from the rest of the library. So, in fact,
there's no way we can handle this from cmake

Here is the list of files in the qml part of KPeople in Ubuntu. Notice that
there is no cmake .config file, so we're hosed. Just hope the packager picks it
up
https://packages.ubuntu.com/xenial/amd64/qml-module-org-kde-people/filelist

We still need the sms app to independently depend on Kirigami, I guess

[kwin] [Bug 401354] New: Half of the magic lamp animation gets repated when minimizing a window

2018-11-23 Thread Filip F .
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401354

Bug ID: 401354
Summary: Half of the magic lamp animation gets repated when
minimizing a window
   Product: kwin
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: effects-various
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: tyx...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 116484
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=116484=edit
output of "qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin supportInformation"

SUMMARY
Sometimes the magic lamp's animation gets played out incorrectly. Half of the
minimizing animation is repeated, which at normal speed makes the effect look
glitchy. This isn't a general bug because I've only encountered it on this
device and the bug doesn't appear when testing with a new user.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. (trigger something (?) userspace related that's interfering with the
animation)
2. observe the animation get played out wrongly

OBSERVED RESULT
https://youtu.be/CvMSDAAkcxQ

EXPECTED RESULT
Effect works as intended.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
OS: Manjaro
KDE Plasma Version: 5.14.3
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.52

Another suggestion to improve accessibility. It would make the app menu better
approximate real menubars (where you don't have to click to reveal the
top-level items).

Wouldn be very useful in conjunction with a bigger menu-button.

Another suggestion to improve the accessibility of the menu (related to Bug

Suggestion is to have to bring up the menu popup, then
(or maybe just first letter???) to interact with the menu
normally.

Also Esc should preferably close the menu popup.

Bug ID: 401351
Summary: Option to make the appmenu button wider and make the

Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist

  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: leftcr...@tutanota.com
  Target Milestone: ---

The menu button is hampered by the fact that it's pretty tiny, also the menu
items are tiny too. This may be OK for a menubar that's always visible (because
it saves space and allows the user to aim beforehand), but it is bad for a
hidden menu).

There are no space constraints for the menu button or its popup. I think it
should be much bigger by default, although an option would be okay too.

SUMMARY

I recently migrated my gentoo to a ryzen 7 laptop, after
rebuilding full system I randomly keep having freezes that
forces me to reboot the machine by the power button. From
/var/log/messages I can read the following lines:

Nov 23 14:50:32 bee kernel: kwin_wayland[18524]: segfault at 10 ip

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start plasma, and run normal desktop tasks, specially if they consume
loads of memory like chromium, firefox, and akonadiserver.

OBSERVED RESULT

Full laptop freezes having easily more than half of the swap yet available.

EXPECTED RESULT

Run without freezes until swap memory gets full.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I'm not really familiar with debugging/providing better traces for
kwin_wayland, but I'm willing to help if guidance is offered, and spend time
looking at documentation to learn, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

2018-11-23 Thread Markus Elfring
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401344

Bug ID: 401344
Summary: Temporary working only with torrents from command
parameters
   Product: ktorrent
   Version: 5.1
  Platform: unspecified
OS: All
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: joris.guis...@gmail.com
  Reporter: markus.elfr...@web.de
  Target Milestone: ---

The program can show questionable run time behaviour for my torrent selection.
Thus I would occasionally like to choose different files by command parameters
(instead of the grown application configuration).

The bar to reproducing this is relatively high, as it is a windows only bug.

I believe it is still valid (as I have not done anything to fix it, and it
happens outside the domain of qt), and should be kept open as a reminder to
look into this. I'll try to give it a better look when the time comes for the
next release (which always involves getting my Windows development environment
back to speed).

Thanks a lot for trimming the fat from our list of bugs!

The windows windowing system

Tested by mapping a network drive, opening a file on the drive, disconnecting

Kirigami is listed under the app, so only required if the app is being built
(It wasn't for me). The QML side of KPeople is not listed (but that might be a
Ubuntu packaging weirdness)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Start Falkon.
2. Open web page - for example - https://bugs.kde.org/describecomponents.cgi
3. Press Ctrl+F.
4. Type 'plasmashell' - text that is present on the page in the search field.

[plasmashell] [Bug 401342] New: Long plasmoid names and/or descriptions are truncated

2018-11-23 Thread BAKfr
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401342

Bug ID: 401342
Summary: Long plasmoid names and/or descriptions are truncated
   Product: plasmashell
   Version: 5.13.5
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Widget Explorer
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org

  Target Milestone: 1.0

Created attachment 116481
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=116481=edit
Screenshot of the problem

SUMMARY

When a plasmoid has a very long name, it is truncated and there is no way to
determine what the plasmoid is.
The same goes for the description.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

Start plasmashell with the fr locale (or any locale with names slightly longer
than english) and search for widgets with a truncated name.
Alternatively, create a test widget with a very long name.

OBSERVED RESULT

The screenshot in attachment contains an example with the Input Panel Method:
both name and description are truncated.
Because of this, there is no way to tell what the widget is or does.

The widget explorer offers no way to see more data than what's displayed.

EXPECTED RESULT

This is an UX problem, so there is no obvious solution.
A tooltip with the full name on each widget would help a lot.

Maybe adding a "details" button to display a window similar to the details
window of the Plasma Add-On Installer ?

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:
Rearranging a class diagram containing 7 classes. Nothing unusual about the
diagram, still in the early stages of designing that application. Cannot set
up a reliable test case as the fault seems intermittent. Changing the layout
works most of the time. May be it is due to me changing the layout when a
timed Save Changes operation starts - not sure. There was some disk activity
at the time of the fault. Might be worth trying an interlock causing the
layout functions to wait for the save to complete and to make the timed save
wait until user interaction has stopped albeit briefly. -- Just a thought, no
evidence that this might work.

The crash can be reproduced sometimes.

[digikam] [Bug 401338] New: All images lost from albums when connection to network share is lost

2018-11-23 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401338

Bug ID: 401338
Summary: All images lost from albums when connection to network
share is lost
   Product: digikam
   Version: 5.9.0
  Platform: MS Windows
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: spam-recei...@web.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Setup of my installation:
* Photos are stores on as NAS server, accessible via a samba share, more
precisely a subfolder of the share.
* DigiKam is executed on a Windows PC with access to the share.
* Database backend MySQL is running on the PC (standalone server, not embedded
into DigiKam), not the NAS server.
This setup generally works fine. The database is filled with appr. 55,000
photos, all stored remotely.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Cut the connection (Wifi and LAN) between the PC and the NAS server.
2. The album list as well as all other photo-related views get emptied. 0
(zero) photos left.
3. Restore the connection.
4. All photos have to be read and inserted to the database again.

OBSERVED RESULT
see #2 and #4

EXPECTED RESULT
At #2: This can be acceptable, but a message to the user would be helpful.
At #4: Because scanning 55,000 images over the network takes very long, the
database contents should be retained and displayed as soon as the connection is
restored. After this, the folders should be scanned for updates, like during
the startup of DigiKam.

Its not happening anymore, but probably not because the bug was somehow fixed,
maybe it finished the cache process on whatever the folder that was causing
trouble.
I also have git folders on my documents.

Anyway, why is the baloo file allowed to take more than 25% of the available
ram? that has to be limited somehow. To take all the ram is unnaceptable in any
circunstance.

[kdenlive] [Bug 401336] New: The project monitor does not display any visuals when opening a .kdenlive file

2018-11-23 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=401336

Bug ID: 401336
Summary: The project monitor does not display any visuals when
opening a .kdenlive file
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 18.08.2
  Platform: Other
OS: MS Windows
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: tspieg...@walla.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
The project monitor does not display any visuals when opening an existing
.kdenlive file. The only solution found for this bug is to toggle the project
monitor into full screen and then disable it.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create new project with the default settings;
2. Import a .JPG file to the bin;
3. Drag the file into one of the sequencer's video channels. Save and exit;
4. Open kdenlive.

OBSERVED RESULT
No visuals appear on the project monitor.

EXPECTED RESULT
The image should be displayed in the project monitor, with effects applied if
relevant.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows: 10

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION - MANUAL SOLUTION
Toggle the project monitor into full screen and then disable it. The project
monitor now displays the image as expected.

[plasmashell] [Bug 401332] Renaming of desktop shortcuts files should display their regular names e.g. 'Dolphin' not domain names e.g. 'org.kde.dolphin.desktop' in 'File Already Exists' dialog

Kai Uwe Broulik changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 CC||k...@privat.broulik.de

--- Comment #1 from Kai Uwe Broulik ---
The file name is in fact "org.kde.dolphin.desktop", so that's what it bases
this decision on. Desktop folder has special magic to read the pretty name from
the file and pretend it's the file name.
