[Craft] [Bug 405662] Add MSVS 2019 support + fix nits
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405662 --- Comment #1 from Ross Boylan --- After a lot of hacking, I have changes that might be appropriate. I still haven't a completely successful install, but the reasons appear unrelated. What is the best way to communicate the changes? They are in a branch in git in my local machine; I cloned from github, but I thought I read that is read-only. Some of the changes permit identification of pre-release versions of MSVS, which are otherwise invisible. Ross -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kio-extras] [Bug 402721] Thumbnails in XDG thumbnailer spec compliant places are ignored by Dolphin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402721 TheAssassin changed: What|Removed |Added CC||theassassin@assassinate-you ||.net --- Comment #12 from TheAssassin --- Been talking to @kbroulik and the main reason KIO ignores thumbnails is not the lack of these extended attributes, but KIO not showing thumbnails for files it doesn't have (enabled) thumbnailers for. The logic seems to be "no thumbnailer in the list -> thumbnailer must be disabled", the use case "thumbnailer doesn't exist" isn't covered. Now, you might think "okay, then let's change that and add a 'fallback' thumbnailer that looks for existing thumbnails and can make use of them when there's no thumbnailer at all", but that wouldn't really solve the issue either, since we have a _proper_ AppImage thumbnailer and don't have to rely on the thumbs AppImages create. Therefore: not worth the effort. On the AppImage side, adding these attributes to thumbnails is a non-trivial task that will bloat our runtime and will add dependencies. Therefore: also not worth the effort. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[digikam] [Bug 386967] Digikam with Adobe Bridge keywords under Windows
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=386967 Lionel MOLLARD changed: What|Removed |Added Version|5.7.0 |6.0.0 --- Comment #6 from Lionel MOLLARD --- Hi, Thank you for your message. Here are some answers : I downloaded Digikam 6.0.0 and tried my manipulations with the keywords, and : I successfuly add keywords, or remove keywords from Bridge and managed to retrieve/remove them into Digikam in the Keyword field. Adding Digikam Tags is also working, but removing Digikam Tags after Bridge update (remove of these keywords) is not working. Thank you for your product and for following it like this. Best regards. [kdiamond] [Bug 405029] Can't set "Classic" theme.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405029 --- Comment #16 from Albert Astals Cid --- I kind of agree with Luigi, we support themes, sure we can move this theme to the code, but people like writing their silly themes, so it seems better if we can add this theme back to the kde store. [krita] [Bug 402625] Dialog box keeps popping up, saying that krita doesn't recognize file type
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=402625 --- Comment #13 from Tymond --- The bug report is closed now because: - there were three issues, all fixed: (a) adding unloadable files to Recent Documents (b) loading unloadable file by Import Animation Frames created infinite progress bar (c) loading one file using Import Animation Frames created infinite progress bar (no change in behaviour depending on whether it was .kra, .gif or .png file) All of them are fixes now. - whether .gif or .kra files should be loaded as animation frames, is down for discussion. Note: you can export image sequence as .kra or .gif files. Makes sense to be able to import it as well. - animated .gif file is loaded the same way (aka looks "corrupted") when loaded using File -> Open as it is loaded using Import Animation Frames. I think it is because it is opened with the assumption of not being animated. When you open the same file in Gimp and hide some layers, the image looks "corrupted" as well. So I think it just shows the first frame instead of merging all of it to get a nice picture. [Craft] [Bug 405662] New: Add MSVS 2019 support + fix nits
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405662 Bug ID: 405662 Summary: Add MSVS 2019 support + fix nits Product: Craft Version: master Platform: MS Windows OS: MS Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: Core Assignee: vonr...@kde.org Reporter: ross.boy...@ucsf.edu CC: kde-wind...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY Please add support for MS Visual Studio 2019, currently available in preview and RC and scheduled for release April 2 (https://devblogs.microsoft.com/visualstudio/visual-studio-2019-release-candidate-rc-now-available/) Along the way I encountered some documentation and error handling that I think can be improved on. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Following https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Build_from_source/Windows setup powershell and start installation. 2. The script asks to choose a compiler and MSVS 2019 is not on the list. That completes the steps to reproduce. I pressed on, selecting MSVS 2017, which is not on my system. OBSERVED RESULT VS2019 was not a choice. After continuing with 2017 I got the message Execute: C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\Shared\Python37_64\python.exe c:\Users\rdboylan\Documents\src\CraftRoot\craft-master\bin\craft.py craft Please ensure that you have installed the C++ component and it stopped. EXPECTED RESULT Well, I kind of expected it to fail :) But it would have been nice if it didn't. I also expected it would be clear whether or not the installation succeeded; it was not. That is, the final message sounded as if it could be recommended post-installation setup. It was also very unclear what exactly was being referred to. Based on looking at the code I'm pretty sure this was a failure. The likely immediate cause was that VCTOOLSREDISTDIR was not set. This was partly because the instructions noted above do not refer to it until AFTER the instructions to install craft. Whether setting it will be sufficient to proceed I don't know; I'll try as soon as I figure the best way to restart. In short: 1. Main issue: Add support for VS 2019 Secondary issues: 2. If installation fails, make it clear it has failed. 3. The message "Please ensure that you have installed the C++ component" could be more explicit about what exactly is missing and how it needs to be installed. 4. Instructions at https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Build_from_source/Windows should specify steps in the order in which they are performed, i.e., set env variables before running script. Better yet, the script could handle this itself, minimally by warning if a needed environment variable is missing and maximally by setting it appropriately. FWIW, I believe with my current installation C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2019\Preview\VC\Redist\MSVC\14.20.27404 is the right value. I believe $env:VCTOOLSREDISTDIR= "..." is the right way to set it. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: 10 64 bit; MSVS 2019 Preview ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Note the installer did find the Python3.7 that was installed as part of VS. I was doing this to build kdiff3. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

I opened it. It opened in Gwenview as it's default image viewer. But Gwenview didn't open it properly. You can see how it opened it in attached image. It's actually Gwenview's windows but instead of showing that image it's showing opera in background. There were already 2 opened windows of Gwenview and Gwenview opened this image in 3rd window. It's not the first time it has happened to me. Though it works fine when opening an image manually through it or opening an image through a file manager like Dolphin or Nautilus. [plasmashell] [Bug 405657] New: [feature] - new option for QML TasksModel, "filterTransients"
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=405657 Bug ID: 405657 Summary: [feature] - new option for QML TasksModel, "filterTransients" Product: plasmashell Version: 5.15.3 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: Task Manager Assignee: h...@kde.org Reporter: mvourla...@gmail.com CC: plasma-b...@kde.org Target Milestone: 1.0 SUMMARY TaskManager.TasksModel by use-case decision excludes all windows that do have the flag "SkipTaskBar" and that creates a limit to its usage from plasma applets. Last years many kde developers have adopted TaskManager.TasksModel in order to provide window-specific functionality from applets. But because of "SkipTaskBar" filtering some windows can not be accessed and more specific the all important normal windows that are transients for main windows. Applets example: https://store.kde.org/p/1274218/ https://store.kde.org/search/projectSearchText/window%20buttons These applets currently can not provide functionality or information for the transient windows. What I propose is a new flag for TasksModel called "filterTransients" which is going to be ENABLED by default but will give the option to kde developers to DISABLE it in order to gain access to transients. I dont know if this is even possible in current plasma wayland infrastructure or it will influence the main use case which is the taskmanager but I want to open the discussion in order to get ideas. Of course I can help a bit for developing some parts of it. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
