Not sure which package actually contains kio. I went with kdelibs5-dbg. I
should also add that the ubuntu repo only had kdelibs5 and libqt4 in the repo.

The generated bug report has some extra fun "this bug report is probably not
useful, 1 star of 3" stuff to it that I think is kinda cool! Maybe I missed
that before.

The packages containing debug information for the following application and
libraries are missing:
/usr/bin/dolphin
/lib/x86_64-linux/libQt5Widgets.so.5
/lib/x86_64-linux/libkdeinti5_dolphin.so
/lib/x86_64-linux/libKF5CoreAddons.so.5
/lib/x86_64-linux/libKF5KIOCore.so.5
/lib/x86_64-linux/libQt5Core.so.5

And I realize this is VERY off topic but there is ABSOLUTELY no way I would go
about making a bug report for something I can't reliably reproduce nor would
have any idea where to start looking for a backtrace.
When I have Kate focused, the computer will randomly lock up and I'm forced to
power cycle the PC. If you happen to know what files might be of use, I can
take a gander and make an educated decision on making a bug report for this.

Seems to be related to the KUrlRequester widget from KIO, for example a similar
bug also occurs when editing an item from "Places" where that widget is used
too.

The documentation for its url() method says it "may be malformed, if the user
entered something weird". But a directory containing a % should be fine, right?

2019-10-20 Thread Harry Coin
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413259

Bug ID: 413259
Summary: Files >=512MB (movies) corrupted during transfer
without warning
   Product: kdeconnect
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: common
  Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com
  Reporter: hgc...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
Phone videos are silently corrupted during transfer.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Take a phone video >= 512MB.
2. Connect via KDEConnect's android app, open dolphin, surf to DCIM directory,
select all, copy.
3. Surf to local directly, paste.
4. Wait. Normal termination reported.

OBSERVED RESULT
Movie files (larger) correctly match size, dates, names. However, the content
is quite wrong.
Proven by removing the memory chip from the phone, copying via direct
connection, then comparing the files.

SUMMARY
It would be fantastic to have the ability to bind a key to "previous profile"

switch profiles is through the "Settings->Switch Profile" menu. I think it
would be useful to have keybinds to be able to cycle through the available list

It may also be useful to have each individual profile be available within the
"Configure Shortcuts" menu for hotkey assignment.

I'm curious about WHAT specifically is unmaintained to justify closing this.
Although there is no longer a main KDE Windows installer, I would ask whether
the font issue is present with any KDE programs compiled for Windows using
Craft.
Given the age of the ticket, and the lack of any follow-up, I'm guessing the
original poster has no further interest, and my interest is purely out of
curiosity, as I no longer have a Windows system to test (thus I'm leaving this
closed.)

[plasma-nm] [Bug 413211] Wired connection default settings are misleading

Dmitry changed:

   What|Removed |Added

 Ever confirmed|0 |1
 Status|RESOLVED|REOPENED
 Resolution|FIXED |---

Proposed fix does not fix the issue itself, just mitigates the most extreme
case.
Behaviour is still broken due to:

1. Configuration is still changes implicitly:
  * before editing: NetworkManager does not set ethernet mode
  * after editing: NetworkManager sets 100 Mb/s FullDuples
2. In some cases (1) leads to UX regression
  * it makes connection over gigabit link slower
  * it makes connection over 100 HD link no longer working
3. In some rare cases it leads to faulty condition
  * in case of (https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=205067) it's
impossible to configure/preserve via GUI a persistently working gigabit
connection.

The only fix I hae ideas about is implementing this as a separate mode of a
connection like it works in XFCE, where not only "Manual" and "Auto" modes are
present, but also "Ignored", which essentially is the described above mode.

Implementing this fix may require adding come code into networkmanager-qt as
plasma-nm uses it to interact with NetworkManager.

[lattedock] [Bug 413257] New: Task Launcher order gets shuffled if there are targets starting with file://

2019-10-20 Thread Furkan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413257

Bug ID: 413257
Summary: Task Launcher order gets shuffled if there are targets
starting with file://
   Product: lattedock
   Version: 0.9.3
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: plasmoid
  Assignee: mvourla...@gmail.com
  Reporter: furkanust...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I have

launchers=applications:firefox.desktop,applications:org.kde.dolphin.desktop,applications:org.kde.konsole.desktop,file:///home/eksi/.local/share/flatpak/exports/share/applications/com.spotify.Client.desktop

in my ~/.config/lattedockrc file and every time I open a new application from
the dock order of the applications change, sometimes they even disappear from
the list and re-appear after I close one or two apps.

I've tested this using the Default layout with Unique tasks.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add a launcher that have a custom .desktop file (Either from flatpak or
~/.local/share/applications/)
2. Launch any of the applications from the task group

OBSERVED RESULT
Order of the applications changes

EXPECTED RESULT
They should stay the same

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
KDE Plasma Version: 5.17.0
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.63.0
Qt Version: 5.13.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I noticed this issue after doing a system upgrade, which upgraded lattedock
from 0.9.2 to 0.9.3. However, I've tested both 0.9.2 and 0.9.1 from source and
the same issue appears in both of them as well. Thus, I am suspecting maybe the
real culprit is in KDE or QT internals.

SUMMARY
Hi!

I am from Hungary. We -in Hungary- have double acute accent for u and o like:
"ű" and "ő". I am using keyboard layout "Hungarian (102/QWERTY/dot/dead keys"
in KDE(Wayland). The deadkey 'compose + :'+'o'/'u' should produce 'ö'/'ü' but
it does nothing. However, ' compose + " '+'o'/'u' should produce 'ű'/'ő'
(double accented u and o) but it produces 'ö'/'ü' (o and u with umlaut ).

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use any hungarian keyboard layout with deadkey
2. Try to produce double accented chars with deadkey like őŐ űŰ and you get öÖ
üÜ (characters with umlaut)
3. Try to produce characters with umlaut öÖ üÜ! Wonder why it is not working!

OBSERVED RESULT
Not working. Should be working.

EXPECTED RESULT
öÖ üÜ for 'compose key'+':'+oO|uU and
őŐ űŰ for 'compose key'+'"'+oO|uU

2019-10-20 Thread Roman Gilg
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413171

According to this list the 1920x1080 resolution does support 60Hz. So I'm not
sure why it's a problem.

The recommended mode (indicated by the +) is for some reason 1600x900 60Hz.

Please try the following command:
xrandr --output --mode
"1920x1080" -r 60.00
and post your xrandr output again.

In general what I want is:
* Hide all the fractional Hz in the UI and show only an integer one
* But use in the backend a fractional one in case no integer one is available

[valgrind] [Bug 399584] Support macOS Mojave (10.14)

2019-10-20 Thread Rhys Kidd
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=399584

I believe Apple made this change in an Xcode release (version 10?), not a
version of macOS per se.

However, it appears that for systems that were upgraded from older Xcode or
older macOS releases, the previous /usr/include headers were left in place --
but freshly built systems would not have them.

My primary development system is still on macOS 10.11, and was progressively
upgraded from around macOS 10.8 or so.

So for me here, these are the following copies of system headers that I can
find:

- /usr/include/
- /Library/Developer/CommandLineTools/SDKs/MacOSX.sdk/usr/include/
-
/Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/MacOSX.platform/Developer/SDKs/MacOSX.sdk/usr/include/

I have access to a second system, which was installed at macOS 10.13 and
upgraded to macOS 10.14. It only sees:

- /Library/Developer/CommandLineTools/SDKs/MacOSX.sdk/usr/include/

I have only installed the CommandLineTools on that system for now.

Building OpenMPI with

I'm going to close this issue now.
It looks like OpenMPI broke compatibility going from 4.0.1 -> 4.0.2.
Can anyone comment on the Valgrind dependency though?

[Discover] [Bug 413254] New: False Update "Aborted due to Failure"

2019-10-20 Thread Bo Grimes
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413254

Bug ID: 413254
Summary: False Update "Aborted due to Failure"
   Product: Discover
   Version: 5.17.0
  Platform: Debian stable
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor

  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 123369
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=123369=edit
Discover screenshot

SUMMARY: Discover reports an update is available, when it isn't. Attempt to
upgrade anyway results in "Aborted due to failure." Thus, Discover tray icon
always reports updates are available, and so the user never knows without
opening Discover and checking if actual updates are available.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Gradio 7.3 via Flatpak (https://github.com/haecker-felix/Gradio)
2. Check for updates in Discover (see attachment)

OBSERVED RESULT
Both Gradio and GNOME Application Platform 3.34 show they are available for
upgrade when they are at the newest version. Gradio will never be updated
beyond 7.3 according to its developer.

EXPECTED RESULT
No update should be available.

I'm not a developer, and this is my first bug report. If I did it wrong, I
apologize. If I had to guess there's something wrong with naming. I
researched and also asked on the IRC channel and tried to identify if this was

nuisance that essentially makes the tray update notifier ineffective. Thanks

Kompare is supporting KIO protocols. So simply doing the same "whitelisting" as
for kdiff would make it work as well. (Done in KRslots::compareContent() i
think).

But Meld (actually also my favourite diff app) is GTK based and adding write
support for it (and other diff tools) is complicated as Davide wrote.

[KScreen] [Bug 413174] 5.17 lost ability to detect other monitor plug in/off during a session

2019-10-20 Thread Michał Dybczak
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413174

Laptop's screen:

Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 3520 x 1080, maximum 16384 x 16384
eDP-1 connected primary 1920x1080+1600+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y
axis) 382mm x 215mm

Secondary monitor:

HDMI-1-3 connected 1600x900+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis)
434mm x 236mm

After I unplugged it, the system didn't detect it, but when I ran command
xrandr -q it blinked and recognized the other monitor is off.

So somehow using xrandr updates the state but without it, it's not.

The other way is true as well. I plugged in the second monitor, monitor
detected that something was plugged and showed "scanning HDMI signal" but there
was no signal because the system didn't react to it. This wasn't changing
untill I used xrandr command again, screens flickered, the picture in secondary
monitor showed up. By the way, browser and terminal window moved to the second
screen although they were originally in the first one. One could write a book
about multi-monitor setup inconsitencies and weird things.

[frameworks-kio] [Bug 413245] loss of data while copying

2019-10-20 Thread Alex Bikadorov
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413245

Well, can you repeatedly reproduce this with Krusader? And when you repeatedly
try the same setup in Dolphin it does never happen?

In this case it is a Krusader bug. But as i said: It seems very unlikely as
Krusader is only starting a KIO::CopyJob which does the actual file copying on
its own.

[plasma-pa] [Bug 413149] On the boot the audio play on wrong output

2019-10-20 Thread Fagner Luan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413149

Oh man... I found another thing that I didn't noticed, even if I set the
default output to HDMI, when I restart, the default output is set to my
headset, but the sound plays on HDMI anyway. A another thing is that Falkon
browser is the only one software tested that respect the choice on the
notification, only in Falkon the audio plays on headset, Firefox, VLC, games
plays on HDMI.

I think that is something after the logon, maybe the applet recognize the
headset as new output and set it as default, but without change it system wise.
Maybe it should store what is the last used output, and after the logon it
refresh.

Hi Alex !

Thanks for Your reply. Yes all files and folders (it was just one big
super-folder) were local ones.

Okay a problem of KIO... My question is now: if it was - wouldn't occur
this problem in konqueror and dolphin also (it never did as I can see -
and I use both very often) ?

Greetings

unfortunately this does not help. Wayland is general is unstable in general
with Plasma,
it is considered in Beta state even for Plasma. Close Latte and use Plasma
panels with the
same applets you are using with Latte, after a while you will probably get the
same crashes.
Qt libraries still contain many wayland issues even with upcoming Qt 5.14 . My
approach is
the following for the Crash report found from KCrash in the systray when Latte
is crashing,
if the crash points Latte code then I am trying to fix it as possible. But if
the crash report
points to Qt/graphic drivers or Plasma then I am not trying to fix or
workaround anything
any more... When the Qt/Plasma stack is considered stable in the future then I
will try
to improve things for Latte implementation in wayland. In my system I dont use
wayland...
too many issues with Plasma/KWin and Activities are also not working at all
which is based
my main workflow, so I wait...

I believe the list of constants has changed between OpenMPI 4.0.1 & 4.0.2.

[gwenview] [Bug 413250] New: Gwenview : No fading transition

2019-10-20 Thread Lapineige
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=413250

Bug ID: 413250
Summary: Gwenview : No fading transition
   Product: gwenview
   Version: 19.04.3
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: gwenview-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: lp.com...@lavache.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

No fade transition between images in Gwenview

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open Gwenview, activate transition effect (fade) (OpenGl or Software, both
shows the same result)
2. Show some images
3. Change from one image to another

OBSERVED RESULT
No fading appears, or any kind of transition. Same as the "No" transition
option.

EXPECTED RESULT

Some fade when transitioning from an image to another.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 19.04
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.62.0
Qt Version: 5.12.2
Nvidia driver: 430.50

(I'm using Kubuntu PPA)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Nothing is shown when I launch it in a console. I don't know how to provide any
log.

I wonder if this did appear after an Nvidia driver update… (but can't remember)
This bug is several Nvidia driver, Linux kernel and Kubuntu framework versions
old.
At some point in the past, animations where really slow, I did came back to the
"No" animation option. Then it worked again… without animations.

My apologies if it's not the right place for this, or not a bug with Gwenview,
but I have this bug this months and don't know what's going on.

thought it wasn't super understandable.

The new string I pushed doesn't, however, match what the option does.

These logs do not tell anything useful to me. I use lattedock on 2 different
systems and on both it is crashing and restarting from time to time. If you
tell me that it is working absolutely stable for you on Wayland, I might have a
special config or it is Arch Linux related... or could it be that plasmashell
will take latte down?

I am sorry, but that needs to be discussed with the application maintainers.

We use the icons they prefer.

If you want different ones, they need to pick them.

You can open bugs for that if you like (for the individual applications),
thought I am not sure how well perceived that will be.

As Kate maintainer, I can say I prefer the current icon, thought I have already
the plan to get a completely new one that is more distinctive for the future.

Therefore I will not change that for Kate.

Bug ID: 413248
Summary: Not all files are selected after moving or pasting to
HDD
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 19.08.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal

Created attachment 123365
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=123365=edit
brief video of folder_B

Not all files are selected after moving or pasting to HDD

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Have folder_A (any storage device) and folder_B (inside a slower device such
as HDD)
2. Have 5+ files inside folder_A, with size > 10MB
3. Move/paste all files from folder_A to folder_B

OBSERVED RESULT
Of all the files created in folder_B (in focus during the whole transfer), only
2 or 3 are selected of the 5+ files copied/moved.

EXPECTED RESULT
All moved files should be selected in the destination folder view.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
Manjaro Linux 64-bit

KDE Plasma Version: 5.16.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.62.0
Qt Version: 5.13.1

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
If folder_B is located at a device with a faster writing speed (SSD) the issue
does not happens.

The bug is that Oxygen is currently being used. I reported a bug, not a wish.

You yourself linked https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/9N41MSQ1WNM8 ,
https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/9NWMW7BB59HW , and
https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/9PPRZ2QHLXTG in a Reddit post. Never
looked at the actual site or tried to launch those apps under Windows?

> breeze is the currently actively maintained icon set and is
> more in style with what Win10 has as icons anyways.

Exactly. Even more baffling then that you use Oxygen instead of Breeze.
