Problem solved. I cannot explain what happened, but I also started experiencing
Yakuake not using fully my monitor or showing across two monitors and sometimes
after I logged in, my Plasma configuration was broken, displays were not placed
next to each other or panel was placed on a wrong one etc. I decided to wipe
all KScreen and Plasma configuration, because I have been carrying it for a
long time and configured everything from scratch and after that I canot
reproduce this issue and Yakuake also behaves as before.

Fix Lab channel render in canvas and Channels docker

This moves the channel rendering code to a KoColorSpace function
named convertChannelToVisualRepresentation, implemented in
KoColorSpaceAbstract and overriden in Lab colorspaces.

This function now handles copying channel values and, where necessary,
renormalizes it so as to fit the valid channel range (as with Lab).

As a bonus, I also fixed scaleToU8 in Lab because it needed
the same renormalization procedure.

Thanks to Wolthera for the initial pseudopatch -- the missing part was
the canvas code.

I'm afraid your explanation doesn't convince me that this issue is anything
other than a Fedora packaging bug. :) Autostarting `dolphin --daemon` isn't the
intended upstream behavior and it's not surprising to me that the behavior is a
bit buggy.

Please do feel free to submit your improvement upstream. If it helps you to get
rid of a local patch, that's good.

2020-03-04 Thread Nate Graham
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417566

The Synaptics touchpad drivers can send fake scroll events, but Libinput
deliberately does not, delegating that to the UI toolkit. Yunhe, which drivers
were you using? I was able to reproduce this using Libinput, which means the
culprit would be somewhere in Qt.

2020-03-04 Thread David Edmundson
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417566

Investigated. We haven't changed anything our side.

Scrolling momentum is being faked at a lower level.
angleDelta and pixelDelta keep being sent after a physical scroll finishes
which adds up and goes psycho.

We don't have QWheelEvent::phase() data which would be ideal for detecting
these fake events.

At best, I can bodge it by checking for pixelDelta and setting a different
target to trigger the action, but it's not a proper fix and that could break
setups without the fake scrolls. Which means I'm stuck.

[Falkon] [Bug 418434] Stopping an activity containing a Falkon window closes all Falkon windows

2020-03-04 Thread Andreas Kilgus

(In reply to Juraj from comment #3)
> > Maybe "one process for each activity" is required to support activities.

> all oft hem.

Well, just for comparison: 23 konqueror processes running on my machine in 4
activities just now - no mess of settings.

But that's the wrong discussion anyway (at least with me as counterpart). I
consider it a bug that the nowadays main/default browser of KDE applications
does not support activities. The way how this lacking can be changed is beyond
my scope/expertise.

> A bit crazy workaround I can think of is using different profiles for each
> activity, in such case there would be new process created.
>
> > falkon -r -p

That's the way activityfox works (well, more or less) for chromium and firefox.
One profile/activity. But s. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=396291#c2 -
this has several flaws.
And does not work for Falkon: Start activity, execute "falkon -r -p test" (BTW:
I don't like the idea of having to repeat all my configuration work for every
new profile from scratch), stop activity, start activity - the restored Falkon
window belongs to the default profile, not to "test".

Reported by a user. Icons in the IOTM behave as though they were pinned
launchers in a regular Task Manager: they jump to the end when launched rather
than staying where they are. Can reproduce with a clean user account on git
master.

Something like

https://phabricator.kde.org/P555

^ as I had the code open to reply.

Realistically I don't care for 3rd party themes, so if you want this change you
have to reply to the above ordering, and then do something useful with the
patch.

Moving back as it requires no changes in Breeze, only task manager.

I don't disagree with your original premise. Yes it should be a flag.

It gets quite convoluted as it would be a theme break - and hover itself is
already optional.

I believe it means we would have to set the SVG prefix to be (in order):

[west-hover-normal, hover-normal, west-hover, hover, west-normal, normal]

is that correct?

2020-03-04 Thread Oded Arbel

Created attachment 126603
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=126603=edit
Defensive programming patch

This looks like some kind of "use after free":
1. PlasmaQuick::Dialog registers PlasmaQuick::DialogPrivate::updateInputShape()
as the slot for QWindow::visibleChanged(bool).
2. QWindow d'tor calls QWindowPrivate::setVisible(false) (through
QWindowPrivate::destroy()), which will in turn signal
QWindow::visibleChanged(bool).
3. PlasmaQuick::DialogPrivate::updateInputShape() gets called after
PlasmaQuick::Dialog had already run and released the DialogPrivate reference
(and apparently zeroed it out?) and calls back into
PlasmaQuick::Dialog::isVisible()
4. When isVisible() tries to access DialogPrivate back, the pointer is already
zero and we get SIGSEGVED

The attached defensive patch works around the problem for me (a bit - I did get
one crash after it, but I didn't get a stack trace - so it may not be the
same).

This is obviously not the correct approach. Maybe unregister from the signals
during d'tor?

[kdevelop] [Bug 418481] New: KDevelop color settings affects Kate editor

2020-03-04 Thread twidd
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418481

Bug ID: 418481
Summary: KDevelop color settings affects Kate editor
   Product: kdevelop
   Version: 5.2.1
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdevelop-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: nesex75...@jalcemail.net
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY:

Hey guys! I would like to change the background color in KDevelop. But when I
change the background color in KDevelop settings, the color automatically
changes in Kate editor. :)

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:

1. Install KDevelop 5.2.1 from repository.
2. Start KDevelop 5.2.1.
3. Go to "Settings" - "Configure KDevelop" - "Fonts & Colors" - "Default schema
for KDevelop" - change for "Breeze Dark".
4. Press OK.
5. Now open Kate editor and... we see black background there.

OBSERVED RESULT:

Option "Default schema for KDevelop" affects Kate editor.

EXPECTED RESULT:

Option "Default schema for KDevelop" should NOT affect other editors.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS:

Linux/KDE Plasma: Kubuntu 18.04
KDE Plasma Version: 5.12.9
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.44.0
Qt Version: 5.9.5

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

There is no such problem in Appimage (KDevelop 5.5.0) version, but I think this
is due to the specifics of the package manager itself, and not related to
KDevelop version.

[kmymoney] [Bug 418479] New: Posting historical investment transactions causes crash

2020-03-04 Thread JAH
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=418479

Bug ID: 418479
Summary: Posting historical investment transactions causes
crash
   Product: kmymoney
   Version: 5.0.5
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: vanques...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I frequently "catch up" with posting my investment transactions at the end of
the month and that sometimes involves creating new securities for transactions
that happened earlier in the month. This hasn't caused a problem before

Now, posting investment transactions dated prior to a Security's/Equity's
Opening_Date (kmmAccounts.openingDate) (which does not appear to be user
definable) causes kmmoney to crash consistently.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create an new Investment Security as normal
2. Post an Investment transaction (Buy) with a date prior to today's date (i.e.
the security's creation date)

OBSERVED RESULT
Kmymoney crashes

EXPECTED RESULT
Transaction should post as normal

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.12.8
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.55.0 and 5.45.0
Qt Version: 5.9.7 and 5.9.4

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Posting the same transaction using today's date or later is successful.

By saving the data in a SQL database and then amending the security's
kmmAccounts.openingDate to a time earlier than the transaction date allows the
transaction to be posted without problem.

kmymoney is otherwise brilliant!

For Step 1, I assume you mean add a vector layer.

For Step 4. You select a vector object using the Select Shapes tool (the
Toolbox icon looks like an arrow).

For Step 5. Having selected a vector object, you then transform it using the
'handles' on the box that surrounds it.

https://docs.krita.org/en/user_manual/vector_graphics.html?highlight=vector#editing-shapes

For Step 4, it may be that you used the 'dotted line' region selection tools
instead.

Can you please review and confirm this and set to RESOLVED NOT A BUG if so?

In case it wasn't very clear, the problem is that the plasmashell processes
crashes and the entire desktop UX is gone.

On my system (Kubuntu with KCI stable) there is some kind of auto-restart thing
going on that tries to restart plasmashell 5 times, and sometimes it manages to
run for maybe a minute before it crashes again with the same SIGSEGV in
PlasmaQuick::Dialog::isVisible(). After a few restarts it gives up.
