[neon] [Bug 424730] New: My system won't start
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424730 Bug ID: 424730 Summary: My system won't start Product: neon Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: critical Priority: NOR Component: Live/Install images Assignee: neon-b...@kde.org Reporter: thallyssonkl...@gmail.com CC: j...@jriddell.org, neon-b...@kde.org, sit...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- I used Neon for months, and in the last days (I always keep the system up to date) after restarting my system it didn't start anymore. A screen appears that asks you to select a system to start, when i select it starts a black screen where it is not possible to do anything or even open the terminal mode. I reinstalled it once and managed to use the computer for a day until the same problem happened again. I tried to reinstall again today and now it doesn't even install. Attached is the photo of the screen that asks to select the system and the black screen. https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424691 --- Comment #7 from LarsE --- You were right, it seems to be a database related issue - some access error is shown in the log. Please refer to the attached file. I'm not sure, which access rights might be missing, since the mentioned user has all rights and grants on the digikam* databases. [skrooge] [Bug 424728] New: Skrooge reconciliation should play happy sounds when delta is 0 and when you validate pointed operations
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424728 Bug ID: 424728 Summary: Skrooge reconciliation should play happy sounds when delta is 0 and when you validate pointed operations Product: skrooge Version: Trunk from git Platform: Flatpak OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: guillaume.deb...@gmail.com Reporter: skierp...@gmail.com CC: steph...@mankowski.fr Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY In reconciliation mode, it's easy to miss when the delta goes to 0 and a checkmark appears. Then when you click the checkmark to "validate pointed operations" it's a bit anticlimactic ;-) . Skrooge plays a sound for every operation update, but not for these happy occasions. FWIW, Quicken Deluxe plays a cash register sound effect when you complete reconciliation. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. In Skrooge, go into reconciliation mode 2. Mark ("point") operations until marked transactions match the balance, so the delta is 0. 3. Click the checkmark to validate pointed operations. OBSERVED RESULT No sounds play. EXPECTED RESULT Happy sounds. Delta of 0 is not a guarantee that you've marked the right transactions, so it should be cautiously optimistic. Maybe use coin sound for the first, and a cash register ka-ching for the second. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: (available in About System) KDE Frameworks Version: 5.70.0 Qt Version: 5.14.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Wikimedia Commons is a good source of completely free sounds. It says its https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Cash_register.ogg comes from http://soundbible.com/333-Cash-Register-Cha-Ching.html , but the latter is much shorter. For coins, https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Bag_of_coins.ogg is great but goes on and on, it would need an edit. The latter site has an overlong coin jingle that one could edit, or a shorter http://soundbible.com/2204-Poker-Chips.html -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Krita reads and knows it's int, but then ignores it completely. Btw is there any place to get this file but cropped/much smaller? It eats lots of RAM and time to open it, and of course cropping in Krita or Gimp (since I have an older version) or Darktable destroys the uniqueness of the file, since it's converted from ints to uints. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[dolphin] [Bug 424723] New: UX improvement to avoid data-loss when pressing 'back' or 'up'.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=424723 Bug ID: 424723 Summary: UX improvement to avoid data-loss when pressing 'back' or 'up'. Product: dolphin Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: panels: folders Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: t...@freedommail.ch CC: kfm-de...@kde.org Target Milestone: --- Dolphin has a hard rule on what do to if you enter a folder from one of its subfolders. It selects the folder you 'came' from. This has UX problems, though as this is a bit random and allows people to lose their data. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start dolphin, for instance from krunner typing 'Downloads'. 2. Press 'up'. 3. Notice that 'Downloads' is selected 4. An unsuspecting user might not notice and select a file in this dir by the 'plus' hover icon. 5. pressing 'delete' now moves to trash 2 items, while the user never selected the dir. It seems that Dolphin by default always selects the one folder it came from, overruling any selection that was there before. To work towards a solution I would like to invite you to try one more test: 1. open dolphin and select any directory 2. navigate 'up'. 3. press outside of all items in order to remove the selection. Notice that at this point your folder you came from still has an underline. A simple 'return' will enter that dir again. I would like to suggest that instead of selecting an item that Dolphin only sets the anchor. Or does an m_selectionManager->clearSelection(); after the current select. This gives all users the benefits they currently have and this avoids the problem of unsuspecting users losing directories by deleting them because Dolphin auto selected the folder for them. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Your first step cannot be solved for the next release because that would need adding a new error message for invalid paths. Elisa is not supporting smb:// paths right now. This is a feature request. I can't click on anything on the dock, there are no hover indicators, and the activity manager doesn't change. This also happens randomly every so often without indication of the cause, so I haven't submitted a bug for that, but I know that Meta+M crashes it. The debug log doesn't provide much indication as to the cause of the crash- on pressing Meta+M it prints some brief info as to screen sizes, which is useless, before the log also stops. Meta+M corresponds to 'Entry 17' in system settings by default, so that may be related. This is the relavent sectionof the log- [debug 14:22:30.336336] - [debug 14:22:30.337337] - 0 .
