So I have been using the proprietary nvidia drivers for the last couple of days
and the only freezes I encountered happened when I compiled some code and ran
out of memory (which seems to be unrelated to the original issue).

So I guess this was a driver issue after all. Thanks for the support :)

I partly solved the problem doing this:
1. git clone git://github.com/KDE/kaffeine  && cd kaffeine && cmake . && make
&& src/kaffeine (2.0.18)
2. Search transponders for other networks
3. Use higher LNBf voltage
Doing this I´m able to receive many stations and switching between them is
possible. But in comparison to the old kaffeine I´m still missing some
stations, i.e.:
Astra 28.2E
Horizontal
10714 MHz, 11758 MHz

I believe that, unfortunately, it's still not that easy to implement even with
the last year's Tusooa work on snapshots docker. (Check out the snapshots
docker; it might help you, too).

My workflow is that I just paint on usually one layer, maybe two, sometimes I
add more and then group them; and when I want to move to another stage, I just
duplicate the layer or the group. Then I can easily compare two versions and I
can refix things I broke in the new revision by merging down the good results
but erasing the bad ones, etc. It's not as easy as you describe it in PS but it
works for me, at least.

Yes, this plugin does have some functionality that I was wanting, though the UI
leaves a some to be desired. Both left and right click drop the primary color
with no easy way to access the secondary color (shift, ctrl, alt and super
don't do anything, you have to swap colors with 'x' or such), and there's no
way to pick a color directly (you have to switch to the eyedropper tool, pick a
color, and then drop it into the mixer, and then switch back to the brush tool)

It's a workable option, but I wouldn't call it a solution.

"It works like that in Photoshop so it's not confusing" is not really a good
argument, there are plenty of options in Photoshop that works very confusing
there in my opinion. Krita doesn't want to be a clone of Photoshop, but to be
better than Photoshop in all situations where we can :D

2020-11-03 Thread Ian Brown
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428668

Bug ID: 428668
Summary: Android auto calls not connecting with KDEConnect app
installed
   Product: kdeconnect
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: android-application
  Assignee: albertv...@gmail.com

  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
With the KDEConnect app installed, Android Auto is not connected via bluetooth
to my Pixel 4. Uninstalling KDEConnect app and everything returns to normal.
The app works perfectly on my desktop.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install KDEConnect app on Pixel 4 running latest firmware;
2. Connect phone to head unit in car via USB-to-USB-C cable;
3. Use Google assistant to start a call;

OBSERVED RESULT
Call uses Pixel 4 handset instead of car audio system.

EXPECTED RESULT
Call should be running through car audio system.

2020-11-03 Thread Christoph Feck
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428663

Qt developers are aware of the defiencies, but lack a contributor to rework the
locale code. For more information, please see
https://wiki.qt.io/Locale_Support_in_Qt_5

Bypassing means that we would re-add our own KLocale classes (what we had for
KDELibs4 applications), which we want to avoid. Users were complaining that KDE
applications weren't following the system's locale, but had their own
configuration.

POSIX could adopt CDLR; Qt then wouldn't need it's own database. At least on
Linux.

[Spectacle] [Bug 428667] New: Spectacle does not save and copy to clipboard at the same time when running in the background

2020-11-03 Thread Yoav Navott
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428667

Bug ID: 428667
Summary: Spectacle does not save and copy to clipboard at the
same time when running in the background
   Product: Spectacle
   Version: 20.08.1
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: General
  Assignee: m...@baloneygeek.com
  Reporter: yoavnav...@gmail.com
CC: k...@david-redondo.de
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
When configuring spectacle to both automatically save and copy the screenshot
to the clipboard, the screenshot is not saved unless the spectacle window is
open, otherwise only copying the screentshot to the clipboard.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Launch spectacle
2. Click "Configure"
3. Under General, tick both "Copy image to clipboard" and "Autosave the image
to the default location"
4. Close spectacle window
5. Click keyboard shortcut for screenshot i.e "Capture entire desktop"
6. Check default screenshot folder and see that it was not saved, but it is
possible to paste it from the clipboard.

OBSERVED RESULT
Instead of saving and copying to the clipboard at the same time, the screenshot
is only copied to the clipboard. When the spectacle window is launched again
the screenshot is saved.

EXPECTED RESULT
Spectacle should copy the image to the clipboard and save it at the same time
while running in the background.

[korganizer] [Bug 428665] New: subscribing and syncing to remote dynamic ics web calendar not possible

2020-11-03 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=428665

Bug ID: 428665
Summary: subscribing and syncing to remote dynamic ics web
calendar not possible
   Product: korganizer
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kdepim-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: je-vv@e.email
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

On Arch, I've tried subscribing remote dynamic ics web calendars, with the
purpose of automatically and periodically sync them. It ends up that's not
possible.

1st, in order to add such remote calendar, it has to be added as a file, and
then the worst part is that one gets the note:

> Select the file whose contents should be represented by this resource. If
> the file does not exist, it will be created. A URL of a remote file can also
> be specified, but note that monitoring for file changes will not work in this
> case.

That means the remote calendar is never going to be synced. As it's not synced
periodically, of course there's no configuration offer to specify how often to
sync the calendar. I need to sync some every day, and others every 15 mins,
like the RO office365 one from where I work. Those calendars need to be synced
because they are dynamic, meaning they change over time. And korganizer seems
to only add ics web static calendars. All such calendars are dynamic, but are
as well RO. So I have no issue with them being set as RO, but I need them to
sync, and I need to be able to specify how often to sync, which on the warning
message lingo, it means I need them to be monitored...

I'm not using KDE/Plasma as DE, but instead LXQt, but I've installed and used
Kontact to test what I'm mentioning.

Then I suppose this should be seen as a deficiency that can to be somehow
addressed either in Qt or in KDE itself to allow bypassing Qt limitations.

If you think it makes sense to open a Qt bug about it upstream, I can file one.

Hi, same problem on my configuration (Debian Buster):
KDE Frameworks 5.54.0
Qt 5.11.3 (built against 5.11.3).
Shifting my laptop from external monitor (4K) to built-in monitor (2K) squeezes
all the stuff (icons, widgets); coming back to 4K all remains squeezed in the
upper 1/4 of the screen. No memory of what the previous order/position in 4K
was. Hope someone will fix this, and he will deserve all our gratitude!

Rotation is possible using View menu. All other operations are editing
operations, and Okular is not an editor, only a viewer. Once you start adding
editing operations, users request more.

SUMMARY

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Neon using the automatic full disk partitioning option

OBSERVED RESULT
Calamares sets up a 21Gb swap partition on my laptop with 20Gb of ram.

EXPECTED RESULT
Either a swap file, as is done on most Ubuntu variants, or a more sane swap
partition size. Unless Neon has hibernation enabled, this is quite overboard.
IIRC Ubuntu have hibernation disabled by default.

The other million times this was asked for had a rationale. The million other
users asked for these features not because they do not understand the KISS
(keep it simple stupid) principle, but rather because this small enhancement
actually improves the user experience. Whenever you view a PDF file and
discover that some page is ill-oriented or in the wrong order, you do not want
to fire up a different program just to do that. So please reconsider your
standpoint. BTW, Okular can do annotations into the PDF file changing it so the
argument that Okular is only a viewer does work here. Moreover, the requested
features can be realised by just calling the QPDF functions. (see QPDF on
Sourceforge).

There is option in system settings to change the ordering of days of the week
in the calendar widgets. Locale alone isn't sufficient if you for example want
to use date and time format from one locale and days of the week ordering from
another locale.

Please add a separate setting.

The same option could be added to Fill Tool (only consider current and below
layers to calculate the area) and selection tools (the same). It would be a new
option in the "Sample Layers" combobox.

I have this on my TODO, but I think first I'd need to add Color Labeled Layers
to the color picker. And there should be a shortcut to pick colors respecting
the Color Picker options (right now there are four shortcuts and they are
absolute; it wouldn't be wise to add two new shortcuts for every new sample
option (for foreground and background colors)).

[digikam] [Bug 428652] Picture stays in people tag "Unknown" even though it was set to not contain a face.

I think you didn't activate the debug output.

Activate the debug output by setting an environment variable in the Windows
environment editor.

Variable:
QT_LOGGING_RULES

Value:
digikam.*=true

Frame 623 may be the last rendered correctly, then it would be the clip/effect
just after?
