In October I probably tested with 5.15.2, but yes, couldn't reproduce.

[dolphin] [Bug 406725] Allow folders to be excluded for thumbnail generation

2021-02-01 Thread Szczepan Hołyszewski
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=406725

Also what is REALLY desired here is the ability to completely and consistently
DENY the thumbnailing subsystem ACCESS to certain files. This isn't what "Show
thumbnails" checkbox does: it prevents thumbnails from being shown in the
dolphin directory view, but when you hover on a file, Dolphin will still
generate its thumbnail and show it in the properties pane. What is desired is
the ability to **prevent the thumbnail file under the .cache directory from
ever possibly being created**, and **this** should work per-directory.

"Remember properties for each folder" remembers ALL properties for each folder:
the view type (list / compact list / tree), icon size, etc. This is
undesirable. I want to be able to use common properties for all folders, EXCEPT
for thumbnailer settings which I DO want to be able to override per directory.

[dolphin] [Bug 432406] New: Cannot open file with non-ascii name when LC_ALL is not set

2021-02-01 Thread Tusooa Zhu
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432406

Bug ID: 432406
Summary: Cannot open file with non-ascii name when LC_ALL is
not set
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 20.08.3
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: tus...@vista.aero
CC: kfm-de...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Trying to open a file whose absolute path contains non-ascii will prompt that
the file does not exist. Setting LC_ALL to a utf-8 locale seems to be a
workaround.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. `touch 测试`
2. `locale`
3. Try to open that file in dolphin
4. (unset LC_CTYPE;export LANG=en_CA.UTF-8;dolphin) and try again
5. (unset LC_CTYPE;export LC_ALL=en_CA.UTF-8;dolphin) and try again

OBSERVED RESULT

2.
] locale
LANG=en_CA.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE=zh_CN.UTF-8
LC_NUMERIC="en_CA.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="en_CA.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="en_CA.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="en_CA.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="en_CA.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="en_CA.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="en_CA.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="en_CA.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="en_CA.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="en_CA.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_CA.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=

3,4: Pops up a dialog with "Unable to run the command specified. The file or
folder /home/tusooa/测试 does not exist."

5: Pops up a dialog to choose an application to open that file. After choosing
one (/usr/bin/emacsclient), the file is successfully opened.

EXPECTED RESULT

3,4 should behave like 5.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: 5.20.5
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.20.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.77.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This only applies to opening files, not directories.

The file can be trashed properly.

It seems to matter only when an external program is needed to open the file.

Konqueror seems to also suffer from this bug. However, the LC_ALL trick will do
nothing to it. Also it does not happen when you are opening an html file in
Konqueror.

I am not sure whether this is a Dolphin and Konqueror bug, or this is a kio
bug. If my judgement is wrong, please move it to the right product.

[dolphin] [Bug 432405] New: Photo Meta Data such as "Data Photographed" Not Showing Up

2021-02-01 Thread Al
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432405

Bug ID: 432405
Summary: Photo Meta Data such as "Data Photographed" Not
Showing Up
   Product: dolphin
   Version: 19.12.3
  Platform: Kubuntu Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: view-engine: details mode
  Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: hapog94...@mado34.com
CC: kfm-de...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

When I choose "date photographed" in the details view for non-corrupt JPEG (and
possibly other type) photos, this column is blank even though there is valid
metadata embedded in these photos. I've read other posts on this for hours, and
nothing helps, including changing the baloo setting for indexing files. This
behavior was also observed in version 20, however I can't use that from
Discover on my setup for some reason and it has other issues.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Navigate to a folder of photos, jpeg for example
2. Change view to detail view mode
3. Enable column "date photographed".

OBSERVED RESULT

All are empty, even with valid metadata.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma: 20.04
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.68.0
Qt Version: 5.12.8

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I tried reinstalling baloo, to no effect. The running of

balooctl status

yields a running baloo instance as desired. Running

balooshow image.jpg

shows all of the desired metadata, which is peculiar and probably very
significant.

Let me know how I can help.

2021-02-01 Thread Dominik Haumann
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432325

Unfortunately that is by design.

If we want to support that, then Kate would have to layout all lines in the
document to know exactly how many wrapped lines are in the view.

Layouting all lines can be really slow since Kate supports right-to-left
languages as well. We already have issues about Kate being slow for very long
lines. Adding support for this behavior would make it worse.

The only possible workaround would be that Kate knows it has only ascii content
(special case), since then with a fixed font we'd know exactly how long a line
would really be.

Currently, we always decided to not add such a special case... So we have to
live with it.

Scrolling with the mouse wheel should work, though.

The reason we close issues like that and send them to the forum is
 because we
cannot help everyone with this issue: there are 9 paid members of
 Krita team

 millions of

Created attachment 135358

patch to add support for the scv instruction

I have updated the scv support patch. The new patch adds the needed support to
parse the scv instruction in guest_ppc_toIR.c. It adds the needed support to
call the sc or the scv instruction in the power assembly system call wrapper
function, fixes up the setting of the at_restart and in_complete_to_committed
variables and finally adds a test case for the sc and scv instructions.

The patch has been tested on Power 8 BE, Power 8 LE, Power 9 (ISA 3.0) with
kernel support for the scv instruction, Power 9 (ISA 3.0) without kernel
support for the scv instruction and on a prototype ISA 3.1 hardware. The patch
works without adding new regression errors.

Julian can you please review the patch. Thanks.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432367

Thank you Andrey for your work on the Plasma Wayland code and for pointing out
the workaround. The workaround works almost. The only major issue I face now is
that the right Alt key no longer works for activating layer 4 of the layout (cf
https://neo-layout.org/ "Ebene 4" in the picture in the upper right corner).
Pressing the Right Alt key does not perform any action.

For example, Pressing "Right-Alt + D" should result in "Arrow down", but with
your workaround results in "a" (which is the expected result of pressing "D"
but not for "Right-Alt + D").

A second minor issue I find is that switching keyboard layouts via the shortcut
("Right-Ctrl+Right-Shift" in my case) does not work reliably anymore after
moving neo layout to second position.

Maybe just try to render it as image sequence? And then you can render first
0-99 frames, then 100-199, then 200-299 etc.

You can also increase the swap file size in Configure Krita -> Performance. You
can also try to actually *lower* the RAM limit for Krita - not sure if it
helps, but I think it helped me once (but for that, your swap file size must be
very big).

Thanks Leonard for reporting and Nate for forwarding.

Leonard, I'm sorry for inconvenience, this is a known problem I currently have
in mind, I hoped I could fix it before somebody faced it so I wouldn't have to
report the bug, but is didn't happened :)

The thing is variants of the first layout currently do not work.
So as a workaround I could suggest please don't place your Neo layout to the
first position. The Layout Settings have Move Up/Down buttons to change layout
order. On the first position, place something that doesn't need variants.

Please report if the workaround works for you.
I'm sorry again and hope it doesn't break your workflow much.
The fix should be soon.

I have a few accounts that no longer provide direct connect access so I used
the CSV imported today for the first time in a while. I agree that it's a lot
more work than it could be.

It would be nice if it worked like mapping an account for direct connect. When
I map an account there are 2 options, kbanking and ofximporter. What if there
was a third option for localcsvimporter. In there you would define the file
path and name for the CSV file, the CSV setup that you have defined and
anything else that is needed. Then all I have to do is update the CSV files on
my system and when I run "Update all accounts" the CSVs are also imported or I
can just update one account mapped to a CSV file.

Now that I think of it, this could also be used for locally stored OFX files.
Rather than manually selecting the file each time, why not add a mapping option
to a local path a file name? This could be called localoxfimporter.

Then all I have to do is download CSV and OFX files and save them to the same
file, KMM does the rest. This seems like mostly an interface problem since the
code to import CSV files and OFX files is already done.

Clearly this all belongs on the wishlist.

[Breeze] [Bug 432395] Missing border of comboboxes in LO and spinboxes in spectacle

Fabian Vogt changed:

The issue with Spectacle is that kImageAnnotator hardcodes a fixed size for the
spin boxes:
https://github.com/ksnip/kImageAnnotator/blob/e3bc6b067030a603158aad2e8e45b67ab7932fb3/src/common/constants/Constants.h#L34

So it ignores minimumSizeHint of the spin box, triggering the fallback.

Adding a workaround in breeze seems to be quite complex, but so far the issues
introduced by the change only hit a few applications (any other than LO and
Spectacle?). It also appears to be caused by those applications not behaving
properly, so IMO a workaround for this isn't necessary.

But the discourse digresses somewhat from dolphin towards baloo; my original
question on how to use the filters has been answered, thank you. It might be
worthwhile to add on documentation / help or some kind of tool tip but it seems
to work the way it was intended.
I'd preferred to have that search "built in" but it was designed and
implemented differently and that's ok, especially as I can use kfind from
dolphin and have this kind of search.
Thus the ticket can be closed.

Yes, looks wrong... We'll check.

P.S:: by looking at the attached screenshot it looks like a curve filling and
not like "drop lines". Not sure it was intented or not but in case you just
want to fill the area below the curve, you can use the option in the tab
"filling" in the curve properties.

filesystems but not on a cifs mount.

What I don't quite understand from comment 4
(https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=431988#c4): Will searching for file date
actually work on remote filesystems, if these aren't indexed by baloo, but
baloo is required to search for file date?

The issue is that Style::drawFrameLineEditPrimitive runs into the "not enough
room" case. Instead of not drawing the double frame, it decides not to draw any
frame at all.

The LO issue can be explained by LO not taking frame margins into account
(confirmed by adding 10px, but LO looked the same), so this might be fixed by
https://github.com/LibreOffice/core/commit/771f1411c588a02ed276febc9a479323bf4232cd.
I'm using 7.0.3.1 here, not sure whether that commit is included. Adding
Michael Weghorn for info.

[kmymoney] [Bug 432397] New: kmymoney could simplify importing CSV files

2021-02-01 Thread Matthew Schultz
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432397

Bug ID: 432397
Summary: kmymoney could simplify importing CSV files
   Product: kmymoney
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: importer
  Assignee: kmymoney-de...@kde.org
  Reporter: matt...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Due to bug 428146, I've been exporting a CSV file from my bank's website and
importing it through the CSV import option in kmymoney. There are a way too
many steps to have to follow for each import. It would be nice if this could
be sped up. I have been choosing the same options every time with perhaps
sometimes a change in filename although most times I just save over the same
file I exported from my bank's website from the last time. I know I can check
"skip setup" but that only reduces 8 steps into 4 steps. I'd like at most two
steps: one to select the account to import to and the other to select the
file. Maybe it could even remember the name of the last file I imported and
skip selecting the file so I just say which account I want to import to. At
any rate, it would be a lot nicer to have a faster import since there's no
longer support for downloading transactions through kmymoney anymore through my
bank.

I would I if I knew how to. Is there a 'simple' way to compile it to a .deb
file for neon? The build instructions
(https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Build_from_source/Plasma_5_on_Ubuntu_14.04_LTS)

Manual scale

Hi David,

It is not possible to set manually the maximum because the manual maximum is
9 bytes. I can not go further. Bad field limit? or unit (it should probably
be in Mio)?

Yes, it is technically correct.
In fact, cumulate the maximum is useful for load averages, disk usages,
bandwith, CPU usage…
But not for physical limits like RAM, % of disk usages…

Okular really stands out for its "Reviews", i.e. highlight texts for review.
However I have to double click on each highlight under "Reviews" which is not

Can I have Prev/Next to review all highlighted section, or even better, can I

Okay, my answer was perhaps a bit hasty. 'Perfectly' is not exactly true, if I
scroll to fast the volume applet seems to miss almost all scroll events. At any
decently slow speed it works fine though, without weird direction dependent

Thanks. Can you test again with Plasma 5.21 once it's released? I have a dim

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432333

> This is "wired internet connection connected"?

Yes.

> This is "wired internet connection disconnected"?

This is no all connections disconnected.

> These are icons for wifi signal strength?

Yes.

> I don't understand, can you clarify?

I am not entirely sure myself but I believe with Xfce 4.16 there is just going
to be one single network icon called like that.

See: https://wiki.xfce.org/releng/4.16/icons_rdns_naming_for_icons

2021-02-01 Thread Joerg
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=432271

An other problem with Okular occured today. I can't print from Okular. To get
an error-report, i started Okular from console. When i tried to print, the
reply on console was "/usr/bin/lpr: Fehler - Zugriff auf
»/tmp/okular_IhOqaH.ps« nicht möglich - Keine Berechtigung" witch means: no
access to /tmp ... - no authorization.
