I have Libjasper 2.0.33 here and it is still a fixed compiled size there.

Hi Gilles,

The function should be "jas_conf_set_dec_default_max_samples (0);" being. The
zero ignores the size, could be dangerous. It just doesn't compile for me
because my Libjasper doesn't yet contain the function.

The Breeze icon theme seems to be broken in this build (3.1.2022). Whatever I
switch to I always get dark icons...

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Draw three frames
2. Press playback button
3.

OBSERVED RESULT
Frames are offset by 1. Frame 1 is played twice, the second time using the
length frame 2 is held for. Frame 2 is then played for the length frame 3 is
supposed to be held for, etc until the last frame, which (if looping) holds for
frame 1's length. Also, When scrubbing along timeline, selected frame is not
the one shown on screen. Instead it is the image of an adjacent frame.

EXPECTED RESULT
Frames play in order starting with the first frame and ending with the last, or
looping after the last frame back to the first

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Just downloaded the digiKam 7.4.0 app. Everything installed fine. Did a
Restart. Upon opening app, get a warning.
2. Warning on screen states that "No plugins were loaded, please check if the
plugins were installed in one of the following paths: System Path: C:/Program
Files/digiKam Local Path: C:/Users/noels/AppData/Local/.marble/plugins
Also check if the plugin is compiled against the right version of Marble.
Analyzing the debut messages inside a debugger might give more insight.
3. This warning appears every time the app is launched. But then the app
opens. Because I am just now starting to use it, I do not really know if there
is anything wrong.

OBSERVED RESULT
This warning is popping up every time I launch the app on the desktop.

EXPECTED RESULT
Do not know what to do with this info. Have verified that the plugins are
loaded correctly in the System Path. But the "Local Path" is not there as
described as far as I can see. And I do not know what "Marble" is.

Hey there, I have looked into this issue and found the root cause of the
inflated layer count. I have submitted a patch (here:
https://invent.kde.org/graphics/krita/-/merge_requests/1270) to fix this issue,
which has already been approved and merged.

I have confirmed that the nightly build already contains this change and is
showing the expected number of layers.

I can move this to resolved upon the next release where I can verify it's
completion.

Please fix fast!

Without the plasma-workspace rebuild krunner runs and lets me enter stuff, but
most runners, including the executable runner, are broken. So I can't run
anything by typing it into krunner or kicker!

[kwin] [Bug 447909] New: Feature Request: The Ability to move Windows between activities

2022-01-03 Thread Brand
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447909

Bug ID: 447909
Summary: Feature Request: The Ability to move Windows between
activities
   Product: kwin
   Version: 5.23.4
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: c...@nobrandheroes.net
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY

Currently, it is not possible to move a window to a different activity. You
must add it to your desired activity, the remove it from the current one. This
is pretty unintuitive and cumbersome.

It would be really helpful to be able to right-click on a window and see an
option to move it to another activity directly.

THE CURRENT PROCESS
1. Right-click on a window titlebar
2. Hover over "Show in Activities" until a menu appears.
3. Select the activity you want the window moved to. The menu should disappear.
4. Right-click the window's titlebar again.
5. Hover over "Show in Activities" until the menu appears again.
6. Select the current activity, and the window should disappear.

THE SUGGESTED PROCESS
1. Right-click on a window titlebar
2. Hover over "Move Window to Activity"
3. Select the activity you want the window moved to. The window should
disappear.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- There was a similar request for KDE4 that was never fulfilled.

long-lived pain point for KDE users.

I can also reproduce the issue. I would like to add that even Latte-dock loses
its current layout. That is, if you have two latte layouts A and B. And if A is
the default. This bug causes layout A to lose all its panels and docks. Layout
B is safe.

Frequency of the bug :- Once in a month. I have noticed that these incidents
happen more frequently after [such](https://pastebin.com/2Pcdn9wh) kwin core

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447908

Bug ID: 447908
Summary: abstractrunner.h can't find KConfigGroup, KPluginInfo
or QIcon
   Product: frameworks-krunner
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Gentoo Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: alexander.loh...@gmx.de
  Reporter: 1i5t5.dun...@cox.net
  Target Milestone: ---

This is against krunner framework live-git at
c6cb0dfa9fd01875d85d0fcf2f6dc88939f47821 (pulled and built today, using the
gentoo/kde live-git packages), but there's no master version to file against,
nor 5.90, which is what about says frameworks is, either. Should I file a
separate bug for that?

I'm not entirely sure this is a krunner framework bug, but the build failures,
plasma-workspace, kdeplasma-addons and plasma-desktop, all point to the same
file owned by the krunner framework, and I can't see a plasma-workspace or
plasma-desktop product to file against in any case, so...

All the failures are include/KF5/KRunner/krunner/abstractrunner.h not finding
something (KConfigGroup, KPluginInfo and QIcon, at least).

plasma-workspace:

[frameworks-kio] [Bug 447906] New: Thumbnailer Previews Broken for kra, xcf, png (not jpg, mp4, mkv)

2022-01-03 Thread Loren Dias
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447906

Bug ID: 447906
Summary: Thumbnailer Previews Broken for kra, xcf, png (not
jpg, mp4, mkv)
   Product: frameworks-kio
   Version: 5.89.0
  Platform: Archlinux Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kio-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: lorend...@gmail.com
CC: kdelibs-b...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
***
On Arch Linux with current version of packages in Dolphin, the thumbnail
previews is broken for kra, xcf, png and probably others

jpg, mp4, mkv are showing just fine.

I've narrowed down the breakage to this package:
`/var/cache/pacman/pkg/kio-5.89.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst`

With the previous version of this package installed
io-5.88.0-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst the KRA thumbnails appear as expected.

***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a test Kritta ~/test.kra
2. Open Dolphin ~/ and see the thumbnail not load despite Previews being
enabled in View, and KRA enabled in the [ Configure ] dialog

OBSERVED RESULT
No KRA, XCF or PNG previews -- meanwhile JPG, MP4 and MKV preview just fine

EXPECTED RESULT
Expect KRA, XCF and other files to show thumbnails

[wacomtablet] [Bug 447905] New: When setting express button actions, keyboard shortcuts using META key cannot be set

2022-01-03 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447905

Bug ID: 447905
Summary: When setting express button actions, keyboard
shortcuts using META key cannot be set
   Product: wacomtablet
   Version: 3.2.0
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: jazzv...@gmail.com
  Reporter: tamius@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
***
When setting express button actions, an action cannot be a shortcut that
contains meta key.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. In Graphic Tablet settings, select 'Express button' tab
2. Click the "Click to assign action" field for a button. This will open the
"Select Button Action" popup.
3. Click the button ('None' by default) at the bottom, next to the keyboard
symbol
4. Press META + [the rest of the shortcut] — for example, CTRL + META + 1

OBSERVED RESULT
The button displays currently pressed keys (or 'Input...' if no keys have been
pressed yet). When META key is pressed, the text on the button reverts to
'None' and no action is set.

EXPECTED RESULT
The button will display the keyboard shortcut (CTRL + META + 1 if following the
example from before), and the action is set.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.89.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I've also tried a few shortcuts that don't have META key in their keypress.
Those shortcuts worked — so far, the problem appeared only with shortcuts that
included META key.

Actually, this only happens on X. Under Wayland, it starts on the screen where

It seems you're not using ANGLE, but rather the stock OpenGL canvas. This is
prone to disaster on Intel cards.

Can you confirm that this crash doesn't happen when you switch the renderer
backend to ANGLE? See the docs here:
https://docs.krita.org/en/reference_manual/preferences/display_settings.html .
Also, what card are you using?

[kwin] [Bug 447330] Context menus have wrong position (offset) on multi monitor setups with different resolutions

--- Comment #1 from indecisiveautoma...@gmail.com ---
I'm experiencing similar problems with a multi monitor setup on Wayland,
however my context menus are horizontally offset.

My monitors are aligned with three on the bottom and one in the top middle
(https://i.postimg.cc/44pvqfMs/Screenshot-20220103-224638.png). If I move the
top monitor to being on the far left side, the issue is resolved. If I move it
to the middle, my context menus are displayed incorrectly.

For me, the context menus are aligned too far to the right
(https://i.postimg.cc/QddpFpMd/Screenshot-20220103-224835.png), and happens
regardless of what display I right click on and where I right click (I can't
workaround by clicking in certain halves of the display like OP). This does not
affect all applications, for instance Firefox and Chromium are fine.
Applications such as Dolphin, Kate and even GTK apps like Lutris display their
context menus incorrectly.

Hopefully this can be fixed in time for Plasma 5.24!

It's a side effect of the fixes for the linked bugs. The reason for that is
that when receiving a paste or drop event from a browser, we prefer the linked
images because those preserve the color space and metadata (as opposed to a raw
bitmap paste, which you've been using).

I've been working on a refactor that should allow selecting between the two,
but it's not yet ready.

[systemsettings] [Bug 447903] New: New regional format in 5.24 generates incorrect plasma-localerc

2022-01-03 Thread Thiago Sueto
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447903

Bug ID: 447903
Summary: New regional format in 5.24 generates incorrect
plasma-localerc
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: master
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_formats
  Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org
  Reporter: herzensch...@gmail.com
CC: hanyo...@protonmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
I believe this is a major breaking bug which is common but not that
discoverable and that ought not to end up in the final release of 5.24.

With Plasma 5.23, plasma-localerc is correctly generated via the System
Settings KCM:

[Formats]
LANG=pt_BR.UTF-8

With Plasma from git (5.24), it is generated without the .UTF-8 bit:

[Formats]
LANG=pt_BR

Which causes a few issues:

* It's impossible to type accents, however ç works

* On X11, the following error shows up on the terminal whenever you type an
accent key in a Qt application:

qt.xkb.compose: failed to create compose table

* On Wayland, the following error shows up on the terminal under the same
conditions, where the first line is repeated around 10 times:

xkbcommon: ERROR: /usr/share/X11/locale/iso8859-1/Compose:49:29: string literal
is not a valid UTF-8 string
xkbcommon: ERROR: /usr/share/X11/locale/iso8859-1/Compose:49:29: too many
errors
xkbcommon: ERROR: /usr/share/X11/locale/iso8859-1/Compose:49:29: failed to
parse file
qt.qpa.input.methods: failed to create compose table

This does not occur on non-Qt applications (tigervnc, Firefox).

I managed to reproduce this issue 100% because I can trivially switch between
openSUSE Krypton and Tumbleweed. After downgrading to Tumbleweed (with Plasma
5.23), deleting the plasma-localerc, using the Formats KCM to set the format to
Brazil, and then rebooting, the issue is resolved; after upgrading to Krypton
(with Plasma from git / 5.24), deleting the plasma-localerc, using the Formats
KCM to set the format to Brazil, and then rebooting, the issue is reproduced.

That is to say: it's hard to discover this bug because the config file needs to
be updated with the new settings, so a user upgrading from 5.23 would likely
not notice it, yet a new user will.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

Small note: I haven't yet tested with other distros, but given how easy this
one is to reproduce...

1. Get a distro or live image or build with Plasma from git
2. Delete the file ~/.config/plasma-localerc
3. Go to the Formats section of the Regional Formats KCM
4. Set it to Brazil format
5. Look at the new ~/.config/plasma-localerc

OBSERVED RESULT
The file contains:
[Formats]
LANG=pt_BR

EXPECTED RESULT
The file should contain:
[Formats]
LANG=pt_BR.UTF-8

[frameworks-syntax-highlighting] [Bug 447902] New: Highlight Editing UI does not work as expected

2022-01-03 Thread Mark Greenwood
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447902

Bug ID: 447902
Summary: Highlight Editing UI does not work as expected
   Product: frameworks-syntax-highlighting
   Version: 5.88.0
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: framework
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: fatger...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
***
When using the Color Theme editing UI in KDevelop or Kate, it does not apply
the colors I select. For some things it does, but for others -eg 'Function'
changing the color makes no difference to the display. Even editing the theme
file by hand does not make a difference.
***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open the Color Theme Editor in eg KDevelop
2. Make a copy of one of the built-in themes.
3. Set the new theme as the default and then start changing colors and hitting
'Apply'. Some work, some do not. This applies to both the Default Colors and
the Language Specific Highlighting. The list of what does not work is extensive
and seems to be Language-dependant, but at least for me it always includes
'Function'. Changing the text to Bold *does* work, but changing the color does
not.

OBSERVED RESULT
As an experiment I changed every single color for the Default Settings, PHP/PHP
and PHP/HTML Languages to bright red. Most things went red, but functions,
variables, and some other elements did not. Variables were observed to be in 3
different colors with no apparent logic to what color was used when.

EXPECTED RESULT
The colors I select should be used consistently everywhere.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS

Linux/KDE Plasma: Manjaro-ARM RPi
(available in About System)
KDE Plasma Version: 5.23.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.88.0
Qt Version: 5.15.2

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This is the only thing stopping me from using KDevelop, it has a killer feature
set but I have a color theme I've got used to over 20 years and I cannot cope
without it.

1) In device manager it says: AMD Radeon R7 Graphics (driver version
27.20.20903.8001)
But for more specifics in msinfo it says in processor AMD Pro A8-8650B R7
2) I will attach the krita file it happened to (though I will say, the issue is
only within krita playback, when it is exported as an mp4, as I did afterwards,
you cannot see the corrupted frame).
3) Canvas Acceleration:
Renderer- Auto (Direct3D 11 via ANGLE)
   Scaling mode- High Quality Filtering
   Use texture buffer- on
Animation Cache:
   Cache storage backend- In memory
   Limit cache frame size- 2500px
   Use region of interest- 25%
   Enable background cache generation- on

Hi popingsarah,

If you could provide the following information, it would help us quite a lot.
1) Please give us any information regarding your cpu or gpu (model, driver,
etc.) so we can try similar vendors or models if possible.
2) If you could provide us a test file, like the one in the video that can have
the issue reproduced, that would help with trying to reproduce it on our end.
3) Lastly, please tell us your current settings in the following preferences
windows:
   `Settings > Configure Krita... > Display > Canvas Acceleration`
   `Settings > Configure Krita... > Performance > Animation Cache`

Thanks,
Eoin.

[krita] [Bug 447901] New: Cannot override default shortcuts

2022-01-03 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447901

Bug ID: 447901
   Summary: Cannot override default shortcuts
   Product: krita
   Version: 5.0.0
  Platform: Manjaro
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
Component: Shortcuts and Canvas Input Settings
  Assignee: krita-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: illuslion1...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
After upgrading Krita to version 5, my shortcuts assigned to the numbers 1-6
stopped working. Now the default shortcuts are executed. I also don't find the
default shortcuts in the settings so I cannot remove them.
But if I hold for example the number 1 and then click the number 2 then my
assigned shortcut is called. I assume the default shortcut and my shortcut are
conflicting.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Add a shortcut for a default shortcut like 1, 2 or 3
2. Click the new shortcut

OBSERVED RESULT
The default shortcut is still executed. For key 1 it will still reset the zoom
to 100%.

EXPECTED RESULT
That my assigned shortcut is executed.

[kdiff3] [Bug 447900] New: Scaling Broken on Windows

2022-01-03 Thread Charlie
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447900

Bug ID: 447900
   Summary: Scaling Broken on Windows
   Product: kdiff3
   Version: 1.9.4
  Platform: Other
OS: Other
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: application

Incorrect Scaling

Install latest version (note this issue has been true for all versions over the
last year) of Kdiff3 on Windows on a machine with a high resolution monitor.
For example, I am using a ThinkPad X1 Yoga gen 6 with a screen resolution of
3840x2400. The scaling factor is 300%.

When you open the app the menus are squished together and the toolbar is
illegible. See screenshot.

To fix requires telling windows to take over scaling itself. This is done by
right clicking the app in Windows explorer, selecting the compatibility tab and
changing the high DPI settings. See screenshot.

Reopen Kdiff3. Now it renders correctly. See screenshot.

Would be nice if this worked automatically versus having to fix this manually.

Thanks!
