https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=445030 Apollo Zhu changed: What|Removed |Added Resolution|--- |INTENTIONAL CC||public-apollonian@outlook.c ||om Status|REPORTED|RESOLVED --- Comment #5 from Apollo Zhu --- Hi all, Thank you for your feedback. I interpret this feedback as reporting 2 bugs: 1. notification syncing, and 2. KDE Connect iOS not working when in the background. 1. there are no public APIs that apps are allowed to use to read your notifications or all of your messages provided by Apple, so there's a high chance we can't provide a fully functional notifications plugin, but we'll try our best to see what can be achieved. 2. please see my response here: https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=447195. In short, we are hoping to add it in the future, but it's not possible right now. KDE Connect iOS is still in the early development phase and there are many things that remain to be implemented. We'll soon add a "features list" to the app (https://invent.kde.org/network/kdeconnect-ios/-/merge_requests/44) to better communicate which features are available and hopefully prevent confusion in the future. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=451535 Apollo Zhu changed: What|Removed |Added Status|REPORTED|RESOLVED Resolution|--- |UPSTREAM CC||public-apollonian@outlook.c ||om --- Comment #1 from Apollo Zhu --- Hi, Due to the restrictions set by Apple, TestFlight can only allow up to 10,000 testers to test a single application. We are, however, regularly removing testers that are on older, unavailable builds (again, another restriction set by Apple is that each version is only available for 90 days). So please check back regularly to see if additional spots are available. We are also in the process of preparing to release KDE Connect iOS on the Apple App Store so there won't be any more restrictions on how many people can download the app, but we need a little more time to figure out some legal stuff and fix some critical bugs that are impacting a large number of testers. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[plasmashell] [Bug 450119] Plasma slow/freezes on resume - possible memory leak?
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450119 --- Comment #11 from YAFU --- Hello. Distro: KDE Neon user edition (Updated - X11) Nvidia GTX 960 - 510.54 I have the same kind of problem as the user who opened the report and it also started happening from about the same date. Actually, KDE/Plasma has always given me some kind of problems when resuming from suspend mode, whether related to Kwin and effects and compositing problems, or Plasma slowness issues and plasmashell incremental memory usage every time I resume from suspend mode (needed to kill and restart plasmashell). But these kinds of problems were not as frequent as the one that started happening about a month ago. Now the problem occurs about 1 out of 3 times wehen resume from suspend mode. Killing plasmashell and restarting the process fixes the problem (but it's very annoying to have to do this so frequently) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

[kstars] [Bug 450148] Mount Model Tool save buttons confuse + bonus improvements suggestions
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=450148 --- Comment #1 from Rob --- You are quite right. I experimented a little with this today. Yes they were "save" and "save as" buttons. But yeah, you are right, it did ask twice on my Mac about overwriting existing files. I also tested on Linux and it did the same. So if the file browser does it, there is really no need to do it again. So yeah I just removed that. But in a similar light, there really is no need to have two buttons. so I just made a change to leave just one button that will have the save as functionality but will select the last file opened or saved so you can overwrite. That will almost work just like the save button did before, with the added advantage that you have to think for a minute about whether you want to overwrite it or save with a different name, so I think that is a benefit actually. Autoloading is also not a bad idea, let me think about that. That might be a plus because then you could just start up kstars and start the automatic alignment routine. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

The preview shows the default cursors. Attempting to use it has no effect. If you leave the cursor settings screen and come back, the theme you installed is no longer present, but discover still thinks it is installed. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open settings -> appearance -> cursor 2. Click "get new cursors" 3. Install any cursor theme. 4. Go back to the settings window where the new theme will appear, but the preview will only show the default cursors (see attached screenshot). 5. Try to use the new theme (nothing happens). 6. Switch to a different page of the settings eg "Icons" and then switch back to cursors (the theme you just installed no longer appears) 7. Click "get new cursors" again and go to the theme you installed (Discover thinks it is already installed) OBSERVED RESULT It isn't possible to use a custom cursor theme installed with Discover. EXPECTED RESULT Installing a cursor theme with Discover should allow you to use it immediately. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Tested on KDE Neon user, testing, and developer using install images downloaded on the day of bug reporting. Also verified that the problem still happens after installing, rebooting into the install, and installing all available updates. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Screenshot the machine window. Zoom into the image and verify that no subpixel antialiasing is present. 4. Install to the local disk, reboot, perform a system update, reboot again, repeat steps 1, 2, 3 and verify that there is still no subpixel antialiasing. OBSERVED RESULT The subpixel antialiasing setting has no effect. No subpixel rendering ever happens outside of the popup demo that demonstrates what subpixel antialiasing looks like. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** The Adaptive sync setting, under System Settings -> Display and Monitor, keeps resetting back to Automatic (the default) when the monitor is turned off or goes to sleep. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Change "Adaptive sync" to "Never" in System Settings and click Apply (then Keep). 2. Turn off the monitor, or let power saving put it to sleep 3. Turn on the monitor, or wake it up OBSERVED RESULT The "Adaptive sync" setting is set back to Automatic. EXPECTED RESULT The "Adaptive sync" setting stays on Never. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian Linux kernel version 5.16.12 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION I'm using a Radeon RX 580 with the amdgpu kernel driver, with an LG 27GP850 monitor connected via Display Port. Because of what seems to be bug #451386, Adaptive sync causes KWin-Wayland to seize up for me when the display is turned off or goes to sleep. I set Adaptive sync to Never which seems to partially work around the issue, letting KWin-Wayland remain functional when the monitor is turned off and back on (although bug #451702 prevents this from being a full workaround), but I found it keeps getting reset back to Automatic afterward. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 451702] New: Various KDE apps lock up with 100% CPU usage when monitor powers off
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=451702 Bug ID: 451702 Summary: Various KDE apps lock up with 100% CPU usage when monitor powers off Product: kwin Version: 5.24.3 Platform: Debian unstable OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: major Priority: NOR Component: wayland-generic Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: chris.k...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** When the monitor is turned off with its power button, or the energy saver puts the screen to sleep, various KDE-based apps become unresponsive and jump to 100% CPU use (which in turn causes my CPU fan to rev up). When the monitor is turned back on and I try to focus the affected apps, it grays out and puts "(Not Responding)" in the titlebar. No amount of waiting seems to let them come back, although I can click the X on the titlebar and it'll close after a moment. Apps I know this occurs with are Konversation, KMail, Konsole, and Akregator, but I certainly haven't done extensive testing to know what other apps are or aren't affected. I do know Pale Moon and Pidgin (non-KDE apps) are not affected. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Start some KDE apps. 2. Turn off the monitor, or let the power saving put the monitor to sleep. 3. Turn on the monitor. OBSERVED RESULT The aforementioned apps are unresponsive with htop showing them taking 100% CPU time. EXPECTED RESULT The apps continue to work normally. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: Debian Linux kernel version 5.16.12, plasma-desktop package version 5.24.3-1 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.24.3 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.90.0 Qt Version: 5.15.2 ADDITIONAL INFORMATION This only started happening when I got my new monitor, and seems to only happen under Wayland. The apps remain responsive with normal CPU use when the monitor turns off with X11. I don't know if it's related to bug #451386 at all, but both issues started for me at the same time, and both only happen with Wayland. I'm using a Radeon RX 580 and the amdgpu kernel driver, with an LG 27GP850 monitor connected via Display Port. My old monitor, which everything worked fine with, was a Samsung SyncMaster T24B350 connected via HDMI. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[kwin] [Bug 451591] [kwin/display configuration] Multiple monitors with same name cause unintentional behavior
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=451591 --- Comment #2 from Parker Reed --- Thanks to a wonderful contributor over on Reddit, finally realized what exposed this issue. My custom EDID setup was already in place when this started. The DisplayPort dock that I have will not drive to monitors at the full refresh rate. So I already had a custom EDID with a single mode single refresh rate set for both of those. Guess which two those were, both portrait. I used a basic EDID generator for the mode and refresh rate which doesn't set a serial number. On top of that I used the same file for both of them in the kernel command line, so to the system they were essentially the same monitor with an nulled out serial. My "solution" of creating to EDID with different names worked because Plasma then have something to differentiate them by even with a blank serial. Wayland with the same EDID works as it already names them as "unknown " programmatically. For the X11 issue at hand, I get that it was my EDID with the same nulled serial causing the issue. I know those get used a lot so probably not the first to run into it. Will be interesting to see if there's anything that can be done there. Thanks. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.

Product: digikam Version: 7.7.0 Platform: Microsoft Windows OS: Microsoft Windows Status: REPORTED Severity: wishlist Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: steve...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** I am not reporting a bug! This is just me being curious. I have a similar problem Mikkel Kludder, many of my images have hierarchical keywords in IPTC. Everytime I read their metadata I end up with multiple copies of the same keyword in different parts of my hierarchy. All I did was consolidate one of these keywords on 41 images. Digikam is now running a process titled "Thumbnails", which has stopped me doing anything for several minutes. What is this process actually doing? These images already have thumbnails. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Change Tags on several files 2. 3. OBSERVED RESULT Digikam displays a message to show that it haas written the keywords, but the process indicator remains active and clicking on its up arrow shows that it is processing Thumbnails. No other actions are allowed until all processes have finished. EXPECTED RESULT Digikam writes metadata and is then ready to perform another task. BTW The display telling one to wait until tasks have finished is inconsistent. It is possible to change tags on images, but not possible to move, or merge tags. [kwin] [Bug 451386] Black Screen with Movable Cursor after Screens Resume from Sleep
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=451386 Chris changed: What|Removed |Added CC||chris.k...@gmail.com --- Comment #4 from Chris --- I'm having a similar issue. When the display goes to sleep or I turn off the monitor, some KDE processes (konversation, kmail, akregator, etc) lock up with 100% CPU utilization, and when I wake/turn on the monitor, I just get a blank screen with a cursor. If I move the cursor, the screen will flicker with dirty contents and leave mouse trails all over the place. Blindly typing in my password apparently does nothing. I have found that I can kill the user (switching to a different tty, e.g. ctrl+alt+f2, kill kwin_wayland and various other processes running as the user) and it'll bring me back to the login screen where I can log back in and use the system again. Better than a full reboot, but hardly makes for a usable system whenever the monitor is turned off. I have also found that if I set Adaptive sync to Never in System Settings -> Display and Monitor, I can turn off the monitor and turn it back on and keep KWin-Wayland running properly. However the same KDE processes will still lock up with 100% CPU utilization (they become unresponsive and need to be closed/restarted), and the Adaptive sync setting resets to Automatic. Interestingly, this only started when I got a new monitor. I had an old hand-me-down Samsung monitor connected via HDMI, and never had any issues when the display went to sleep or I turned off the monitor. But once I replaced it with a newer LG 27GP850 monitor connected via Display Port, these issues started. I'm using Debian Unstable with kde-wayland 5.24.3-1. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
