Git commit c5d274b8efe1992d3eb523d931b9631bbe09a7b0 by Nate Graham.
Committed on 13/05/2022 at 04:13.
Pushed by ngraham into branch 'master'.

applets/weather: Always Round temperature

None of the weather providers still provide decimals for the
temperature, so we just always end up displaying "25.0" as the
temperature. So let's round it to get rid of the unnecessary decimal.

[plasma-nm] [Bug 452948] connection with no internet causes Plasma-Desktop to freeze

I can confirm this (with 4G LTE USB modem / not wifi).
I have limited bandwidth per day. So when the internet quota runs out, and I
click disconnect (from plasma-nm), then more often than not the plasma freezes.

If i disconnect the (no quota) internet from modem control panel (via browser
192.168.0.1) then no freeze.
If i just unplug the usb modem from usb port, then no freeze.

Maybe it's related to dns resolver, because with dnscrypt+dnsmasq the freeze
time is much shorter compared to systemd-resolved.
I don't see any clue from journalctl or journalctl -f.

Yes, one can find detailed and nice information by click the 'Details' link on
the right side of the page[1]. This page lists the link you mentioned.
At the bottom of the page, you will see a standalone md5sum.txt link. The hash
in this page is not the same as the one in 'Details' link.
All these information are from download.kde.org, not a mirror site.

I can use sha-256 to check the file.
But the purpose of this bug report is to find out what causes the difference
and how to fix it in the future, though I am not a contributor of KDE.

I can confirm this, with additional info:

System Settings > Workspace Behavior > Activities > Privacy > Remember opened
documents:. Have 3 options :
1. For all applications
2. Do not remember
3. Only for specific applications

Option 1 work as expected
Option 2 can/can't remember opened document depend on applications icon
marked/unmarked and "blacklist applications not on the list".
Option 3 can not remember opened documents. Mark/unmark applications icon and
"blacklist applications not on the list" have no effect.

So option 2 work as option 3 = Only for specific applications
Option 3 work as option 2 = Do not remember

Two Dolphin windows opened at the same file/folder may show the problem more
readily but is not necessary to reproduce the error, they can be showing
different files/folders.

[systemsettings] [Bug 417615] Option to disable kdeconnect

2022-05-12 Thread Forest
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=417615

Alternative workaround step 2, leaving system config files untouched:

Copy /usr/share/dbus-1/services/org.kde.kdeconnect.service to
~/.local/share/dbus-1/services/ and change the Exec= line of the copy to
Exec=/usr/bin/false

When combined with step 1 of my workaround, this prevents kdeconnectd from
launching in that user's sessions. It adds some clutter to the session log, as
dbus-daemon complains that the executable is failing, but it gives up after
several tries and seems to remain quiet after that.

My second wild guess is that Qt and your browser use different configurations;
Chrome uses a different SSL library, for instance. My third is that the
Nextcloud CalDAV server is using a really old certificate that could be
upgraded,
but I'm way outside my knowledge.

[frameworks-baloo] [Bug 445065] Dolphin gets stuk when using Samba after the NAS falls asleep

2022-05-12 Thread AT
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=445065

AT changed:

I think what I am experiencing may be the same thing.

I am browsing a cifs mounted directory with Dolphin. I am currently doing some
work where I am copying the paths of pdf files into a document. Occasionally
when I right click a pdf with the intention to "Copy Location" the Dolphin
window freezes. I have two Dolphin windows open, but only one is frozen. In
System Monitor I see the two Dolphin processes, one indicating "disk sleep"
under CPU% column. After a while it unfreezes, and if I'm not careful I've made
some clicks on the frozen window which result in some abrupt changes (e.g
accidentally opening a panel).

I just tried the solution of `balooctl disable` and that seems to have solved
it.

I'm on Arch Linux with the latest kde versions. My cifs mount is to a fast SSD
array over a 10Gbit interface.

I have noticed this "disk sleep" freeze with the same setup, but browsing a
folder of images with the info panel open. I was browsing images, and somehow
coinciding with this "disk sleep" stuff after killing the dolphin process I
ended up with `ls -la` showing a link count of ZERO for one of the files it got
stuck on. Had to recover it from snapshot, not sure if related.

Yes I have automount turned on but it still doesn't matter. No matter which
drive I choose from, unless it's the root partition the wallpaper reverts to
the default one.

[kwin] [Bug 453663] Application of "Window Rules" causes temporary blackness.

2022-05-12 Thread Ismael Asensio
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453663

I suspect this has not to do with rules, but with kwin reconfiguration (which
in turn has to be called for the new rules to take effect).

Can you try `qdbus org.kde.KWin /KWin org.kde.KWin.reconfigure` to see if
that's the case?

This flickering effect shouldn't happen on Wayland, just on X11, and I cannot
think of a way that it could be avoided there (based on the fact that it never
were).

Seems only options are 'click to focus,' 'click to focus (mouse precedence,)'
'focus follows mouse,' 'focus follows mouse (mouse precedence,') 'focus under
mouse,' 'focus strictly under mouse.' Slackware tradition is never change
anything upstream unless needed to work.

error msg

SUMMARY
The example below occurs with the Brave snap, but I think it also happens with
all the other snaps.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. install Brave snap via Discover
2. open Brave and add pin to task manager
3. update Brave (when available)

OBSERVED RESULT
Clicking on the pinned icon throws this "Plasma workspace" error :
"The file or folder /snap/brave/158/opt/brave.com/brave/brave does not exist. "
= pinned icon doesn't work
(app launching still works via app launcher)

EXPECTED RESULT
App should open.

[konsole] [Bug 440070] Issues with rendering multi-width characters with bitmap fonts.

Ping. What is the correct resolution for this? I really don't want to stop
using Terminus just because of this! It seems that Konsole/Yakuake is falling
back to other (nonbitmap? nonmonospace?) font for special characters it cannot
find in the bitmap font? Could maybe this be fixed by cropping that one
character without it breaking the neighbouring characters?

[kate] [Bug 453716] New: Kate sometimes crashes when closing a tab in a split view

2022-05-12 Thread Matthew Trescott
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453716

Bug ID: 453716
Summary: Kate sometimes crashes when closing a tab in a split
view
   Product: kate
   Version: 22.04.0
  Platform: openSUSE RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Keywords: drkonqi
  Severity: crash
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: matthewtresc...@gmail.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Application: kate (22.04.0)

Qt Version: 5.15.2
Frameworks Version: 5.93.0
Operating System: Linux 5.17.4-1-default x86_64
Windowing System: Wayland
Distribution: "openSUSE Tumbleweed"
DrKonqi: 5.24.5 [KCrashBackend]

-- Information about the crash:
- What I was doing when the application crashed:

I opened my saved session, which contains four vertical panels using split
view. In this saved session, the left two panes have the same file open
(xtc1_boardctl.c) and no others. The second pane from the right has three tabs
(from left to right: board.h, xtc1_boardctl.c, tm4c_bringup.c). The far-right
pane has only tm4c_bringup.c.

I want to close the duplicate tabs in the second pane from the right, so I
click the X on the tabs, first for tm4c_bringup.c, which closes normally. Then,
I clicked the X on the tab for xtc1_boardctl.c, which caused Kate to crash.

The reporter is unsure if this crash is reproducible.

That commit does not solve the issue. As the reporter said:

> When selecting files to drag, the file's entire column is highlighted blue,
> despite the only draggable
> bit being the name.
> This means that there is a large area which looks drag-droppable which I
> can't drag, and also a

That is still an issue. Re-opening.

   Product: kate
   Version: 22.04.0
  Platform: Fedora RPMs
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: general
  Assignee: kwrite-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: niv...@fastmail.com

Kate, the keyboard has been erased.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Go to Settings > Configure Keyboard Shortcuts
2. Look for "Show Sidebars"
3. Add a new shortcut (or replace existing: Ctrl. Shift Alt F).
4. Test shortcut: it works.
5. Restart KDE.
6. Test shortcut: it does not work anymore.

[kwin] [Bug 453714] New: Hold down "Windows key" to keep Plasma Application menu open

2022-05-12 Thread Adrián López Galera
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=453714

Bug ID: 453714
Summary: Hold down "Windows key" to keep Plasma Application
menu open
   Product: kwin
   Version: unspecified
  Platform: Neon Packages
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: wishlist
  Priority: NOR
 Component: input
  Assignee: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Reporter: adrlop...@disroot.org
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
***

Frequently, when I open the Plasma Application menu with the "Windows key", I
want to open other apps as well. I think that is more productive, time saver
and better from user experience that holding down "Windows key" (or the
equivalent) keeps the Plasma Application menu open until the key is released.

This way, user can open an unlimited number of apps without having to open the
menu again.

***

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Press "Windows key" (or the equivalent).
2. Choose an app

OBSERVED RESULT

If "Windows key" is pressed once, the menu closes after openning an app.
If "Windows key" is hold down, the menu can be moved (?) without notice, but no
app can be opened.

EXPECTED RESULT

If "Windows key" is hold down, the menu should allow many apps to be opened
before closing.
