Are you sure this is not a ktexteditor bug? I seem to be seeing similar

[systemsettings] [Bug 486323] New: Scroll to zoom on map does not work

2024-04-29 Thread Natalie Clarius
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=486323

Bug ID: 486323
Summary: Scroll to zoom on map does not work
Classification: Applications
   Product: systemsettings
   Version: master
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: normal
  Priority: NOR
 Component: kcm_nightcolor
  Assignee: m...@ratijas.tk
  Reporter: natalie_clar...@yahoo.de
CC: kwin-bugs-n...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Choose manual location mode
2. Scroll over map area with Ctrl modifier pressed

OBSERVED RESULT
Map moves vertically

EXPECTED RESULT
Map zooms
(Perhaps even without Ctrl pressed, because panning can already be achieved by
dragging)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I don't understand the Flickable WheelHandler, the onWheel doesn't seem to fire
at all. I also don't really understand the code in there, is it trying to
adjust zoom at all? What else does it do?

2024-04-29 Thread Tyson Tan
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=486322

Bug ID: 486322
Summary: Export document dialogue doesn't have the original
file name in Filename input field
Classification: Applications
   Product: krita
Version: nightly build (please specify the git hash!)
  Platform: Other

Somewhere between 2024/04/20 - 2024/04/30, Krita Nightly Unstable build's
Export Document dialogue doesn't supply the original file name in its Filename
input field anymore. It is always empty by default.

I don't think this change is desirable. It makes the exporting process so much
more cumbersome, and which acts against effective file management and document
versioning.

Tested with krita-5.3.0-prealpha-cd30414277-x86_64.appimage (2024/04/30)

I suspect the following commits that were merged on 2024/04/24:

Now the bug is present in the way originally described...

When I change the applet settings to "always on" or "always off" the change is
reflected immediately. However when I set it to automatically change based on
locations, it stays on no matter the time of day.

The displayed information is correct, i.e. my location and on/off times are
calculated correctly, however it still turns "on" Night Color when it should be
off.

For instance it is 3.47pm right now and Night Color is active, even though the
applet says "color temperature will begin changing at 17.13."

As per my various historic posts, i continue to desperately hope the KDE Devs
will eventually find a way to bring this VITAL function into their Wayland
codebase. I've used Wayland now for a couple of years, but still badly pine for
this missing function the same as the first day. On the rare occasions i revert
briefly to X11 i always revel in being able to Shade at will.

[plasmashell] [Bug 484216] Plasmoid popups close immediately after open when using non-default keyboard layout switching policies

2024-04-29 Thread bugzilla_noreply
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=484216

I have per-application (not per window) layout and I didn't have an issue when
I boot previously.
But I had it when I started PC for the last session and I have en layout as
default.

So, after that I:
1. Closed all windows
2. Focused on desktop
3. Switched layout to secondary
4. Opened different app

In this case I had no issue no matter what keyboard layout is active in opened
app (either en or secondary).

Then I:
1. Closed all windows
2. Focused on desktop
3. Switched layout to en
4. Opened an app

And I can reproduce an issue again:
If I switch layout to secondary while I'm in the app, popup windows start to
erratically close.
If I switch it back to en, it works alright.

I used Firefox for all of my experiments but I don't think it matters because I
have seen it with other apps as well

Thank you for responding so quickly. I understand this how it works today. I
was suggesting that it might be more convenient to have the Map pane act more

The Plasmashell freeze seems to only occur when the Pie Chart display style is

the Pie Chart when adding the widget.

These lines also appear during the X11 session, where there is no freeze. So
the only other errors that stand out to me are these Wayland errors. Not sure
if they are related.

SUMMARY
There currently is the "keep above other windows" property, it's useful for
cases like you want to watch a video in a small window whilst doing other
things. The problem is that if you set "keep above other windows" on an app, it
remains always-on-top, even if you maximise the window or enter full-screen
mode. When the app's window is maximised or full-screen, the always-on-top
property is no longer useful and causes more inconveniences (e.g., can't
temporarily see another window without minimising the always-on-top window).

So, it would be helpful if there is another property "keep above other windows
in window mode". This property keeps the window always-on-top, when the window
is a normal (not maximised, not full-screen) window.

Im not sure how to do that.
Just uncheck in metadata configuration TAB Behavior all checked field and
Sidecars uncheck write too ? Is it all setting which you need ?

Or just which values in digikamrc to toggle would be fine too.

Can you please try appimage 5.2.2 from the website to see if it works there or
segfaults as well? We've got a few reports about crashes on 5.2.2: bug 485446 ,
bug 484715 , but they all seem to happen only on the snap version. Snap is not
officially supported, we're not the team making them, unlike appimages that are
made by Krita team. So maybe something wrong happened with packaging, and for
that we need to know whether this crash happens on appimage too.

[Breeze] [Bug 486318] New: Some folder icon are not symbolic even if symbolic versions of them exists

2024-04-29 Thread Dilam
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=486318

Bug ID: 486318
Summary: Some folder icon are not symbolic even if symbolic
versions of them exists
Classification: Plasma
   Product: Breeze
   Version: 6.0.4
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Icons
  Assignee: visual-des...@kde.org
  Reporter: pasdabonneme...@gmail.com
CC: kain...@gmail.com, m...@nueljl.in
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
They are some folder icon without symbolic in their names which allays appear
symbolic even if symbolic versions of them exists. If icons are enormous we
still get enormous simple symbols. It is not normal to get exactly the same
behavior than if we were using symbolic icons.
This is the case for every folder icons related to mails and some others like
server-database or document-multiple.
Those are cases where there are symbolic and "not symbolic" version (with "not
symbolic" being exactly like symbolic) but I have found one case of folder
which does not have a not symbolic version and should have one :
folder-saved-search-symbolic (there is no "folder-saved-search").

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a folder with multiple sub-folders
2. Put an affected folder-icon on one of the folder (right-clic > properties >
clic on icon)
3. Switch to the third view (the detailed list view) and zoom in and out to see
other folder changing between folder and symbolic
4. See that the affected icon does not switch as they should.

OBSERVED RESULT
Some icon does not get the style they should and stay symbolic even with
enormous zoom level (see attachment).

EXPECTED RESULT
Every icon with not symbolic in their names should switch to a folder or with
detailed looks on large sizes (for coherency, beauty and better distinction).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

versions (bug 486316).

Happens for me on a fresh Kubuntu 23.10.

The slider snaps back to its previous state, but the profile got actually
updated.
The pp daemon is working fine and can be controlled via cli without problems.

This is not a firmware bug and from my knowledge it is still a KDE issue.

[Breeze] [Bug 486316] New: Some folder icons does not have symbolic versions of them, stay folder on smallest size

2024-04-29 Thread Dilam
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=486316

Bug ID: 486316
Summary: Some folder icons does not have symbolic versions of
them, stay folder on smallest size
Classification: Plasma
   Product: Breeze
   Version: 6.0.4
  Platform: unspecified
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: minor
  Priority: NOR
 Component: Icons
  Assignee: visual-des...@kde.org
  Reporter: pasdabonneme...@gmail.com
CC: kain...@gmail.com, m...@nueljl.in
  Target Milestone: ---

SUMMARY
They are some folder icon without symbolic versions. If we get on really small
sizes, every folder icons switch to their symbolic versions except those icons
which doesn't have symbolic version and stay with folder looks.
This is the case for :
- folder-decrypted
- folder-encrypted
- library-music

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a folder with multiple sub-folders
2. Put an affected folder-icon on one of the folder (right-clic > properties >
clic on icon)
3. Switch to the third view (the detailed list view) and zoom in and out to see
other folder changing between folder and symbolic
4. See that the affected icon does not switch as they should.

OBSERVED RESULT
Some icon does not switch as they should (see attachment).

EXPECTED RESULT
Every icon should switch to their symbolic version on really small sizes (for
visibility and coherency).
Symbolic version of those folder should exist for that to happen.

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Operating System: KDE neon 6.0
KDE Plasma Version: 6.0.4
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.1.0
Qt Version: 6.7.0
Kernel Version: 6.5.0-28-generic (64-bit)
Graphics Platform: Wayland

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
There is a bug which is the inverse of this one : icons with no folder
versions, or more precisely with folder versions which are duplicates of
symbolic versions.

I can reproduce the issue with Qt 6.7 now. I was unable to with 6.6; I fear
this is a Qt 6.7 regression somehow.

Anyway, the steps to reproduce are now very simple:

1. Open Dolphin
2. Open System Settings > Colors & Themes > Icons > Breeze Dark > Apply
3,. Move cursor over Dolphin's Places Panel

Boom, non-symbolic icons.

[gwenview] [Bug 485430] Rename file with F2: initial keyboard focus should be in the filename text field

The implementation of QLineEdit is quite hardcoded when it comes to selection
management.

- It forcefully deselects text when it loses focus:

Qt::FocusReason reason = e->reason();
if (reason != Qt::ActiveWindowFocusReason &&
reason != Qt::PopupFocusReason)
deselect();

- and selects all text when it gains the focus back:

else if (!d->control->hasSelectedText())
selectAll();

Can confirm the bug and the fix. I'm pretty sure it used to just work in past.
Something must've changed in Qt.

It does. However, only if the focus is initially on the field.

[kwin] [Bug 377162] Window shading not supported for Wayland windows

Just switched to Wayland because Plasma 6 with Fedora 40, and overall it's
"just fine". Had been avoiding the X->Wayland upgrade for years, was
pleasantly surprised at things overall/

However, I just encountered this bug. If it's to be considered an
unimplemented feature rather than a bug, could it be removed from the options
in "Settings->Window Management", which still lists "shade" as a thing you can
assign to, for example double clicking on the titlebar?

[kdenlive] [Bug 486313] New: Glaxnimate does not show the Kdenlive timeline as background (appimage in both cases)

2024-04-29 Thread Bernd
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=486313

Bug ID: 486313
Summary: Glaxnimate does not show the Kdenlive timeline as
background (appimage in both cases)
Classification: Applications
   Product: kdenlive
   Version: 24.02.2
  Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
  Severity: major
  Priority: NOR
 Component: User Interface
  Assignee: j...@kdenlive.org
  Reporter: bern...@yahoo.com
  Target Milestone: ---

Created attachment 169012
  --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=169012=edit
Glaxnimate with checkered background instead of timeline clip frames

SUMMARY
When editing a Glaxnimate animation from the timeline, the background is just
checkered and the timeline video is not displayed. This is not a duplicate of
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=464897 as it is for Linux and the latest
version. Admittedly, this works using the PPA version but from version 24
onward, PPA is not supported anymore.
Appimage versions for both Kdenlive and Glaxnimate.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Create a new animation
2. Put the animation into the timeline in a video track above one already
containing a clip
3. Double-click the animation clip in the timeline

OBSERVED RESULT
Glaxnimate is called and opens the animation for editing but does not display
the timeline video clip frames as background

EXPECTED RESULT
Timeline video clip frames are shown as background images in the Glaxnimate
editing window

SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: Pop!_OS 22.04 LTS
KDE Frameworks Version: 6.0.0
Qt Version: 6.2.2
