Sincerely at this stage i think it's a bug in the Mate Launcher since you can
launch it correctly fine from the terminal and not from the launcher.

I would suggest opening a bug in their bug tracker.

Using Plasma or not has nothing to do with the bug, and yes this bug is still
reproducible.

Nick, no you should not.

As I already mentioned this is a bug in Qt and has been fixed for Qt 5.6 with
https://codereview.qt-project.org/#/c/141620/

I suggest you guys contact your distributions and let them know about the
existance of this bug and ask for a backport of the patch to the Qt they ship
if you think this is critical enough.

Why? It's not somewhere you'd go to add a boomark, it's much easier to
rightclick on the page itself to add a bookmark than to move the mouse out to
the bookmarks sidebar and right click there, no?

  kcmshell5 fonts
if using Plasma4

Do you have a file named
 /usr/share/applications/kde4/krecipes.desktop
?

If so can you run 
   grep Exec /usr/share/applications/kde4/krecipes.desktop
and print its output?

If not you'll have to use your package manater to try to find the file and then
run the same grep command

I guess as a stop gap measure you could uninstall that texgyreheros font, or
change fontconfig not to substitute Arial to it, looks like it'd be the one

If somebody has time I propose a way to have the information of the
announcements page in a single place from which we can autogenerate the main
pag, the announcements page and an rss.

Otherwise it because more of a burden for people that manually do the releases,

This is all very strange.

More things to try.

Please do this:

stop rsibreak

move ~/.config/rsibreakrc away
   mv ~/.config/rsibreakrc ~/.config/rsibreakrc.backup

Now start rsibreak with strace saving to a file (make sure you have strace
installed)
   strace rsibreak &> ~/strace_output

On the "welcome" dialog, check the "Don't show again" and press the "OK" button

Close rsibreak from the system tray.

Attach the ~/strace_output file to this bug.

The code for reading xbm files we are using is part of Qt. So any program using
Qt to read images will have this problem. Please report the bug upstream at

Eugene, please do not pollute real bugs with frameworks branch bugs, if you use
a unstable development branch, you don't go and comment on bugs that are for a
stable version. 

Using the frameworks branch is totally unsupported, if you want to do it,
you're free to do it, and you may even report *new* bugs and add [frameworks]
to the beginning of the topic to highlight it's of a non release branch.

The configuration dialog is a bit confusing, if you want the effect and not the
popup go to settings, "during breaks" and uncheck the "use popup" checkbox.

Trying to compile the new RSIBreak on Trusty is going to be hard since RSIBreak
0.12 is based on libraries that are not avaiable in Trusty, unless you *really*
*really* need the new features i'd just wait for Xenial, which will be LTS too
as trusty and has rsibreak 0.12.

If you want it, you need to compile all the dependencies too, and that's going
to be lots of compiling, you probably even need to compile Qt5

You should not be using the frameworks branch if you need to use Okular
reliably, the frameworks branch is not supported, so if you're using it, is
because you want, we appreciate you report bugs and people that created those
bugs in the frameworks branch may eventually fix them, but don't complain it
doesn't work.

At least one of those, not sure which is shown either as sub-title or title
(depending on your config) in the plasma k-menu, so yeah they're relatively
important.

Let me make sure i understand this correct:
 * if you use okular to open the file, it works
 * if you dolphin to open the file, it fails

You mean that if you open a file on smb and press F5 it doesn't reload the
file?
I guess that's because dolphin does that not because okular does it right?
i.e. if you call okular from the command line it will work, no?
