Yes, with the 5.9.0 AppImage version, it works as it used to do, e.g. the
"Album / Reread Metadata from Images" menu item updates geolocation and other

Of course, it can be considered that there is something wrong on the server
side. But the same CalDAV resource works with other clients, e.g. the iOS
calendar.

unfortunately, I cannot confirm this solution. The thunderbird.desktop file in
place here already contains this entry
MimeType=x-scheme-handler/mailto;
but the problem still exists.
