[Powerdevil] [Bug 456518] New: KDE seems to think that the desktop is a laptop
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=456518 Bug ID: 456518 Summary: KDE seems to think that the desktop is a laptop Product: Powerdevil Version: 5.18.7 Platform: Other OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: plasma-b...@kde.org Reporter: henk.vanvel...@xs4all.nl CC: m...@ratijas.tk Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols. See https://community.kde.org/Guidelines_and_HOWTOs/Debugging/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Install openSUSE Leap 15.3 with KDE on HP Desktop TP01-2050nl. 2. Start user session and System Settings > Power Management > Energy Saving. Screen shown is that of a laptop, it differs considerable from that on a desktop and has e.g. extra item for dimming. In any case dimming, nor switching off of the screen works. 3. Another phenomenon that shows that KDE thinks this is a laptop is a popup (every !5 minutes) that offers to switch monitors/screens where one is a "laptop screen". This is circumvented by switching Background Kscreen2 off. OBSERVED RESULT laptop based configuration and other actions. EXPECTED RESULT desktop based configuration and other actions. SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Windows: macOS: Linux/KDE Plasma: openSUSE Leap 15.3 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.18.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.76.0 (what package name version to look for?) Qt Version: 5.12.7 (that is what I see most when listing installed RPMs with QT in the name) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 341143] Bring back per-virtual-desktop wallpapers
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=341143 --- Comment #419 from hcvv --- @leftcrane "Then hire a developer who will do whatever you without any questions. There are no hired hands here." I have no idea what your function is here, but when you are the deciding person, then please simply say: we do not care what you want, we will not repair it, end of discussion. But do not try to excuse yourself for not doing it by explaining to others they are dumb idiots that do not understand how much better the world would be when they would except your explanation on how they should so their work. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 341143] Bring back per-virtual-desktop wallpapers
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=341143 --- Comment #412 from hcvv --- @leftcrane. Please do not tell others what they want. Many want this. This feature functioned already for more then 25 years (yes, it was in CDE on Unix, not so sophisticated, but you could give every desktop a different background colour). Those who want this do know why they want it. Telling them that they do not know what they want and that you know better what they want is . -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
[plasmashell] [Bug 341143] Wallpaper on every desktop is gone.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=341143 --- Comment #225 from hcvv <henk.vanvel...@xs4all.nl> --- @ Nathanael Schilling I do not think this Bug report is on Activities. This is about wallpapers on the virtual desktops. Also, I think you have a question, but not a bug report. So either report a new bug (with all evidence and material that should go with it), or go to the KDE forums to ask for help/explanation about your subject. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
