Alternative way to reproduce (1)-(4):
Turn off the primary (slow) screen: windows & panel automatically get moved to
the secondary. The turn on the slow screen again, (1)-(4) happens.

Yes, indeed! Apologies for forgetting to mention in the first place. The
primary/slow MSI monitor is connected through DisplayPort whereas the other one
is HDMI.

Forgot to mention: I have a dual monitor setup.

Sorry for the delay! According to jxlinfo, the problematic images are 16-bit
