With the KDE Frameworks 5  and Plasma  well underway the only thing of
the old KDE Software Collection are the KDE Applications that don't yet have a
release plan or schedule for the Qt5/KF5 port. Beneath these big changes in a
lot of our software there are quite a few other
Reduce the amount of KDE Core Apps according to a definition and release the
other apps in independent groups or suites like e.g. KDE Edu, KDE Games, KDE
PIM, Amarok or the Calligra Suite.
We could decide on a group of KDE Core Apps (for the Desktop) based on a
Proposal: To make the release and announcement process smoother and less
redundant work and to reach more people we should formalize and script some
(more) of the processes involved.
In the last weeks and months we had a plethora of releases and announcements.
