since I bought a laptop with a clickpad. The root cause is the default
settings for the Synaptics driver when using any clickpad are distinctly

3.16.0-26.34 since 2014-11-25. If you have 3.16.0-25-33, then either you
didn't setup the Proposed repository correctly, or you have the software
pinned so that you aren't pulling down the Proposed
Booted into 3.16.0-24-generic which was the kernel before the current
kernel and problem occurred, the wi-fi disconnected.
This problems started the day after updates were run on 13th November
2014 when the wi-fi disconnection started.

Miguel Ribeiro, if you have tested this issue in the latest mainline
kernel (now 3.18-rc7) and it doesn't work, it's considered an upstream
