I was able to reproduce the issue on a stock Jessie install on a Vostro
1320 (featuring a BCM 3412). Kernel versions after 3.17 (including
3.18.12, 3.19.0, 3.19.6 and 4.0.1, at least these are the ones I checked

In the end I solved this problem by switching to Wicd Network Manager
(https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WICD) and the problem has not emerged
again.
Note: The default Network Manager is still installed on my system, but I
have disabled Networking on it and no longer use it. WICD works better

After upgrading to Ubuntu 15.04 from 14.10 my Logitech wireless K520 and
M310 became useless.They do work for a few mins but then they both stop
working. Removing the wireless usb-receiver and plugging in a wired
keyboard and mouse saved me from reinstalling.

I set up a lab machine, tried it out, and saw the same behavior that
I've reported here.
Then I installed the 4.1 rc2-vivid kernel package for amd64 and

connecting to TP-Link router nearly instant freeze post authentication.
