The last update of Ubuntu 16.04 (kernel 4.4.0-36 to 4.4.0-38) reduced
the failure to reconnect of my Microsoft Sculpt Comfort BT mouse from
90% to 15%. Something improved a lot. The fix I have been using was to
pull up the settings/bluetooth, turn off bluetooth (it says on when the
window is
4.8 seems to fix it. Got a number of warnings about possible missing
firmware for Radeon, not sure if it matters.

I did an install of 16.04 kernel 4.4.0-38-generic and also had the
freeze after waking from sleep. The screen was visible but non
responsive. I had a lot of hard drive activity on boot when I did a
power down restart and a brief message about cleaning up orphaned

Yes, this started happening after an upgrade. Unfortunately, I don't
remember the last kernel I had and it's since been removed where it was
working. I stay on stable builds though, if that helps with identifying

I am having the laggy bluetooth mouse issue with a Logitech MX Anywhere
2 and a Lenovo T450s.
The modprobe suggestion from @cribari has worked for me so far, but I've
only done 5 minutes of testing at this point, and only one suspend-
resume cycle.
Order of operations:
1)
After some days the problem disappeard 'by itself'. I did install
various other programs, and at some pint in time this generic Ubuntu bug
was solved.
Running the commands under #4 (from Joseph) showed that everything was
ok.

After starting Ubuntu 16.10 keyboard and mouse are dead. Since it works
with an older kernel but not with the latest one, I'd assume the newer
kernel does not initialize the devices the right way.
