the 4.8.1 upstream stable updates applied. The fix may have come in
from upstream with these updates.

I'd already looked into the mac address pass-through issue before opening this
case. At the time, upgrading the BIOS from 1.2.10 to 1.2.14 didn't work. While

Not sure if this Broadcom fix addresses this issue - in fact, I tried
many ways to reproduce this and wasn't able.
Perhaps this should be closed as non-reproducible if we have no more news from
the reporter.
