Okay, after a few minutes under Disco, I'm still experiencing strange
delays on WiFi on my home router, Netgear R7000, very very similar to
the latencies on Mozilla's network. Revering to v34 firmware seems to
workaround the issue.

Just upgraded to Disco, it seems okay, not checked if it's really fixed
or just a workaround in place.

I also checked this on my office workstation which has a similar setup
but different GFX card. The exact issue happens there. I think this is
how this works in general in Ubuntu.

Fine tuning: only one extra mount is necessary .. then plymouth
finishes very quickly .. and xorg/lightdm start normally!
