On v5.11 kernels the failure looks a little bit different and I think it
might be different issue. Since v5.9, the kernel per-group memory is
charged towards given group. This failed several tests, e.g. trying to
create subgroups.

Found on focal v5.11 kernels (but not v5.8): 5.11.0-1009-aws (AWS
c4.8xlarge) and 5.11.0-22-generic (Azure Standard_F32s_v2). It seems it
fails only on bigger instances (32 CPUs or more).

Backport of 2d10b23082a7 ("fanotify: return only user requested event
types in event mask") to bionic v4.15 is non trivial (dependency on at
least 5b0457ad021f ("fsnotify: remove redundant arguments to
handle_event()")). Better to simply hint the test.

Fix would require backport of commit 6d4572a9d71d ("btrfs: allow
btrfs_truncate_block() to fallback to nocow for data space
reservation"). The v5.4 got its own backport but it does not apply into
v4.15.

To distinguish issues:
1. This bug is for test failures on ARM64 metal instances.
2. lp:1836167 and lp:1923191 are related (mostly) to cloud instances.
As for ARM64, I checked SRU 20210621 on appleton-kernel.arm64 and dazzle.arm64
instances:
- focal/linux 5.4.0-79.88 on
- focal/hwe-5.8
