I agree, this needs to be upgraded to importance level High as it makes

I have the same behavior after upgrading from Ubuntu 13.04 to 13.10 this
evening on my Asus UX31A: blank screen and can not get into a terminal.
I tried booting from a USB drive with the 13.10 x64 image and got the
same result.

No video output at all when booting
I have what I believe is the same bug affecting an ASUS UX32VD.
I have also been unable to figure out what logs to post, but the system
appears to boot normally with no video output.
I believe it is the same Kernel bug as is reported for ArchLinux here:

Maybe I wasn't clear enough in my description, but immediately after the
grub menu disappears, the screen flickers once and after that I cannot
get the screen to display anything, not even by switching to a virtual
console. The only thing I could do, is to remotely login with ssh and
copy the log
