I have tracked down my 'flip_done timed out' fault!
I noticed in my DMESG log that in the lines where 'flip_done timed out'
occurred with long delay periods of over 10 seconds, the error referred to
'SVIDEO-1'. A quick Google on that revealed that I am not alone and that
this is a

1) Regarding the BIOS Error, you are welcome to update your BIOS to see
if this provides resolution.
2) The next step is to fully commit bisect from kernel 4.13 to 4.15 in
order to identify the last good kernel commit, followed immediately by
the first bad one. This will allow for a mo

Long boot time (approx 5 minuntes!), long shutdown

Hello dino99!
My system worked fine until only a few days ago whilst I was still using
17.10...
My system then started to fail to boot (blank screen) after a recent
update/upgrade command:
sudo apt update
sudo apt upgrade
The following kernels starting causing a problem:
4.13.0-38
4.13.0-39
I
can you flash a newer bios ?
can you find the latest kernel not affected by that issue ?
