After reporting bug upstream, the determined hint came from Laurent Pinchart.
I have tested webcam with setting the UVC_QUIRK_PROBE_DEF quirk. With them
webcam works proberly.
Laurent will update the uvcvideo quirks table to set UVC_QUIRK_PROBE_DEF by

I noted similar behaviour immediately following a wheezy upgrade on one in five
Dell servers with bonded eths.
I found that Debian package: firmware-linux-nonfree was NOT installed, and this
mentions tg3 firmware.

I have the same problem and just tested with the latest mainline kernel
[0]. The problem wasn't fixed.
I also tried different propietary driver versions (I am using fglrx) and
the open source radeon driver, both of which showed the same wrong
behaviour. I think I should be able to fix the problem
This is still not fixed, but I suppose Lenovo needs to fix the firmware,
which they obviously will not do, as far as I know the successors of the
X121e have the same bu.

Actually, it's not quite fixed. The patch that went in for this had the
device ids wrong, I think. I am in touch with Henrik Rydberg about this.
It kind of works for me now, but the and the §° buttons are switched,
which is because I don't get the ISO flag set.

The bug reoccured with the latest mainline I tested (3.11.0-031100rc7-generic).
It seems to mainly occur when moving windows and specifically when moving
windows between two displays. But that may be coincidence.

I think LZ4 should be default. It provides a slightly lower compression,
but is extremely fast, especially when decompressing.
