I setup a netconsole. It captured things like connect/disconnect usb device, or
closing the laptop display and using external monitor. Also when the system
reboots it captures log entries.
But in the moment the system freezes (about 4 h after boot) again nothing was
captured.

"acpi_osi=Linux" is not useful actually, and i removed it from my grub config.
"acpi_backlight=vendor" is required on raring and saucy at least if I want to
be able to manage the backlight. Precise and quantal could be affected as well.
