Hi,
We also have experienced this issue with 3.2.0-57-generic. Thanks to the
core dump analysis by Louis Bouchard, I could notice that accessing
current-mempolicy in interrupt context is totally bad idea, and then
found the following commit.
Correction: also the tap does not works. Both tapping and clicking on the left
button is recognized as left click, right click or even central click
unpredictably...
Unfortunately, this behaviour makes the new patch unusable. How do I remove the
new module and revert to the original one?
@Joseph, thanks for the info and i could install v3.14-rc7-trusty
(although i had to switch from nvidia to integrated graphics as nvidia
didn't seem to work anymore).
The experience is somewhat mixed so far. In the half-day i'm running it
i haven't seen really bad behaviour (no multi-minute

@Joseph: I don't know, but I suppose it's possible. After reporting this
bug, I blacklisted the i2c-hid driver to work around bug 1218973. I
haven't done many S3 cycles since adding the blacklist, but I will pay
attention to whether this USB bus failure happens again with i2c-hid
blacklisted.
For what it's worth, some bugs can be easier to reproduce on machines
with lots of cores (that might explain why you couldn't reproduce it on
your local laptop).
I recall that bug #1011792 never happened on our local 4-cores VM, but
the same workload would lock up a 8-cores VM in a few hours.
