For completeness, I can confirm what Chris has said (i.e. the fglrx
drivers do not solve the problem). My testing shows almost the same
situation as Chris has kindly noted. By way of a summary:
3.15rc5 kernel with fglrx drivers - X won't start
3.13 kernel with fglrx drivers on AC power - ex
Ack, with the daily ppa it seems to work. I have the ZFS processes as expected

I have same issue. I tried with several kernel parameters (nomodeset or
acpi=force, boot=...) but nothing helps. Ubuntu boots irregularly. After
switching off the Hardware for more than 30 minutes the first boot seems to be
fine.
A BIOS Update to F.06 doesn't change anything for me.

I'll test the -9.ucode ASAP. Are there any bits from 3.14 or 3.15 that
should be backported in order for the Ubuntu 3.13 kernel to work best
with the -9.ucode?
System76 customers are experiencing a lot of problems with 7260/3160
cards, and so we're keen on getting -9.ucode in a linux-fi
Above my dmesg logs are from 3.15-rc5 kernel. So it is not fixed.

Lenovo ThinkCentre M93p reboot
There is no difference there. My first attempt to suspend the system
resulted in a crash. I have attached the crashlog from /var/crash.

I've tested it today and it seems that the problem is solved. One of
the software updates has fixed the problem. Thanks for your support.
