If you mark a system in maas as 'generic/hwe-u', then you will boot
installation with the hwe-u kernel, the install will install the hwe-u kernel,
and everything is happy.
generally speaking my experience with power is you need hwe-u. hwe-t
kernels are not stable on ppc64el.

PS: I used to have intermittent network drops in ubuntu 14.04 which is
why I upgraded from LTS to 15.04 in the first place.
I used to workaround the problem by restarting the network-manager via
sudo service network-manager stop
sudo service network-manager start
This workaround has stopped
Any news on this? Also affects the wireless in the lenovo z70 series
