In Linux 4.10-rc8, the implementation to enable the "stop" instruction
has the following shortcomings:
a) The code hand-codes the values for ESL, EC, TR, MTL bits of PSSCR and uses
only the RL field from the firmware. While this is not incorrect, since the
hand-coded
4.8 kernels are not affected by this bug. If you have OOMs on 4.8
kernels, please file a new bug with all the revelant details and logs.

I did have bootchart installed. So I removed and purged it and went as
far as moving the hidden .bootchart directory to the trash (couldn't
delete it) and then restarting the computer. So far this seems to have
