It sounds like the upstream 4.4 kernel does not have the bug per

Partially I solved the problem with Cougar 500K.
The problem lies in the fact that this keyboard has three interfaces (in terms
of USB), for the first two (keyboard and mouse) the kernel attaches the input
driver (from dmesg):

avim (avisoftware123). It should have not been working with 4.9 as touch
pad. It was working as a mouse. E.g. with 4.9 you should not be able to
do scrolls and other gestures.
There are generally might be three cases with this touch pad:
1. The touch pad is not working at all, e.g. no cursor

Every time a new kernel installs, after a reboot the network interface

However: It sometimes happens, that fixes for kernel bugs create
regressions. I think you are better with filing another
After update to 4.4.0-64.85, the bug still exist.
It would stop at tty7 and it doesn't switch straight to a tty1.
