Dell XPS owner, I would also suggest you hassle Dell.. selling a laptop
with Ubuntu installed, where one of the devices doesn't even work properly
is a bit of a d1ck move. I've reported the issue with them which they

Shouldn't this have some priority? Even apt upgrade breaks if I don't

That's is correct, MAAS 2.2.0+ sends the apparmor=0 for the ephemeral
environments.
That said, however, this affects else who is not using 2.2 (which in
fact, affects customers who are still in 2.1). Also, based on my
testing, it seems that when using hwe-16.04 kernel this doesn't

When I turn the computer off and then reboot, it opens with error
messages. I had to Google, from my phone, to find a way to get it to
state. Something like fsck -fy/dev/sda1.it repaired some files and
allows me to use the computer. But if I turn it off, it does it again.
That's exactly the testing kernel built for - to test if software boost
performs well.

The calls that fail are 'open()' calls. In ubuntu we do not have patches
to s390-tools for dasdfmt code path. Please seek help from s390-tools
upstream developers at IBM.
And call to 'open()' should not require user to have a default shell set
- e.g. it should not be resulting in e.g. system()
